The UFC president Dana White says that he is aware he won’t be able to ‘bounce back’ after the slapping wife incident. However, according to him leaving the UFC is not an answer to anything. Quite on the contrary, he sees that this move would ‘destroy’ the company.
Paparazzi camera caught Dana White on video slapping his wife in public. The incident happened on New Year’s Eve in a nightclub in Cabo, Mexico.

Since then, people have called him out to resign as President of the UFC. To make the pressure even greater, some UFC fighters and sports outlets spoke about his resignation as well.
A couple of days after the incident, Dana White arranged an interview with TMZ. He apologized for his actions and assured the public that there are ‘no cracks’ in his marriage. However, even though everything is ok at his end, he told how he is aware he will carry the label of domestic violence with him for the rest of his life.
“You don’t bounce back from this. You don’t ever bounce back from this.” – Dana White told. “For the rest of my life, however long that is – people are going to label me that.”
The UFC however, still faces very strong calls from MMA fans to remove Dana White as president. But, the promotion decided not to do that. Dana White also believes it would be a massive mistake to leave the promotion. He thinks that the promotion will have a really tough time without him.
“What should the repercussions be? I take 30 days off?” – Dana White asked the journalists.”I told you guys when we were going through Covid that Covid could last ten years and I could sit it out. It’s much like Covid, actually. Me leaving hurts the company, hurts my employees, hurts the fighters. It doesn’t hurt me. I could have left in 2016, know what I mean. Do I need to reflect? No, I don’t need to reflect. The morning when I woke up, I reflected. I’ve been against this, I’ve owned this. I’m telling you that I’m wrong.”
Dana White confesses that his actions from New Year’s Eve will haunt him until his last day. However, he must live with that.
“I’ve got to walk around for however long I live – is it 10.4 years or is it another 25 years – and this is how I’m labelled now.” – Dana White told he is not afraid to continue. My other punishment is that I’m sure a lot of people, whether it be media, fighters, friends, acquaintances, who had respect for me might not have respect for me now.”
“We’ve had plenty of discussions internally. With Ari [Emannuel], ESPN.” – Dana White said. “Nobody is happy, nobody is happy about this. Neither am I. But it happened and I have to deal with it.”
