This past weekend at The New Beginning In Osaka – Jay White would lose a Loser Leaves Japan match to rising star Hikule’o. While this didn’t mean White was done with New Japan Pro Wrestling as a whole, it did send him packing from Japan for the time being. However – tomorrow could end up being the final day for White in NJPW, as the stakes have been significantly raised for his match with Eddie Kingston at Battle In The Valley – with their match now becoming a Loser Leaves NJPW match.
Jay White & Eddie Kingston Up The Stakes For Their Match At Battle In The Valley
While appearing on Wrestling Observer Live to promote their upcoming match, both Eddie Kingston & Jay White would get into an argument. This would lead to new conditions being added to their grudge match. If Kingston is able to get the victory, Jay White will have to leave NJPW for good. Meanwhile if White wins, Kingston will need to get White’s permission to wrestle anyone from the NJPW roster – regardless of promotion. Both men would agree to these terms, and they would be made official by NJPW management.
Considering how much respect Kingston has for Japanese professional wrestling, being locked out of future matches with the likes of Tomohiro Ishii, Taichi, Will Ospreay, Kazuchika Okada & Hiroshi Tanahahsi would be a major emotional blow. The stakes are even higher for White – with his contract with NJPW on the line in this match. There is little doubt that if White loses, he will find a new home in professional wrestling – but as someone who has come up in the industry as a Young Lion in NJPW and has main evented shows like Wrestle Kingdom – moving past NJPW will be a difficult career move.
Right now, we know there is interest from both WWE & AEW in having Jay White as part of their rosters. He’s a high value name in the industry, being viewed as someone on the same level as names like AJ Styles & Kenny Omega. White has already shown up in AEW, wrestling on AEW Rampage and working Forbidden Door – while WWE would be brand new ground for him.
