Recently, we saw the end of the New Japan Pro Wrestling career of Jay White. The former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion lost a ‘Loser Leaves NJPW’ match to rival Eddie Kingston at Battle In The Valley – ending a 10 year run with the promotion. He rose from Young Lion to the main event of several Tokyo Dome shows, and while that stage of his career is done – Jay White is far from done telling his story.
Jay White Feels He’s Got A Lot Left To Do In This Industry – Already Did It All In NJPW
While speaking to Justin Barrasso at Sports Illustrated, Jay White would comment on his future in professional wrestling – claiming that anything is possible at this stage.
“So much is possible. Impact, AEW, WWE—we’ll see. I’m at peace with it. I don’t know if there is much more I could have done. I don’t feel like I left a bunch of boxes unchecked. I’ve been living it, so it can be hard to appreciate it in the moment, but as I move on, I’ve started to look back at the weight some of it holds. As time goes on, I hope people appreciate it even more. To me, I was doing what I was meant to be doing. Now I’m looking at what’s next.”
Right now, many fans expect him to make his official AEW debut as part of AEW Revolution 2023 – which happens next Sunday, March 5th. A WWE debut would likely come either at WrestleMania 39, or on the much anticipated episode of Monday Night RAW following WrestleMania.
While White has experience in Impact Wrestling, it seems unlikely they would be able to match AEW or WWE in a bidding war for White – who is one of the hottest free agents in the professional wrestling industry at this time. Whoever gets White has a ready made main event player who is about to enter the prime years of his career.
