King Charles III is reportedly over the moon in anticipation of the most momentous day of his life.
King Charles III Is Looking Forward To His Coronation
On Saturday 6th May 2023, he will be anointed in London’s Westminster Abbey with the Archbishop of Canterbury officiating the ceremony.
It is uncertain if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will come back to Britain for the coronation, since they are now based in California. Other members of the Royal Family, however, will be present for the event.
Recently, the King has experienced a lot of turmoil in his family. Last December, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared the hardships of their life in a 6-part show on Netflix, entitled “Harry & Meghan”.
Then, in January, Harry published a book called “Spare”. The 38-year-old has spoken of the rift between himself and his father and elder brother, Prince William, since he left the U.K.
Despite this being the case, Charles is looking forward to the event. Lady Anne Glenconner, who happened to be the maid of honor at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, had this to say: “I think they’re very excited.
“And it’s so exciting because there are very few people alive like me who were part of the last coronation. I’m the only person to have written about the coronation who was actually in it.
“We’re absolutely looking forward to it very much.” The response on social media, however, was far from pleasant.
A certain subset of people were of the view that the event looked out of touch in light of the current cost of living crisis that was plaguing the nation. Therefore, it made him come across in a poor light.
One person wrote: “A lot of people feel the coronation is a celebration of adultery, betrayal, abuse of power, corruption & racism. Charles is delusional if he thinks the whole world will be celebrating with him.”
