A PR specialist, Paul MacKenzie-Cummins, has argued that in order to recover favour from the public in the UK, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry must refrain from media attention for a period of time.
PR Specialist Warns Harry And Meghan To Stop Talking To The Media-‘Shut The Hell Up For A Period Of Time’
It is fair to say that the pair have been bombarding the media with their projects of late. Their six-part documentary series on Netflix focusing on their relationship and the troubles they experienced as active members of the royal family aired in December.
In January of this year, the Duke of Sussex also took part in several interviews to plug his book, Spare, which contained some potentially damaging claims about the British Royal Family.
This included accusations that Prince William had assaulted Harry, as the latter fell on a dog bowl. Meanwhile, he even went on to refer to Queen Consort Camilla as a villain.
These projects had a negative impact, as the opinion polls showed that their popularity had decreased since then. YouGov conducted a survey of 1,691 British adults that revealed Harry’s approval rating is currently at -44.
In addition, only 24 percent of those asked feel positively about the Duke, while 68 percent reported a negative opinion of him. With that being said, this is what Paul had to say: “Is there a way back for them? Yes, there is.
“But that would mean taking a media hiatus and frankly shutting the hell up for a period of time. I doubt they will take this opportunity to get the public back onside and rebuild their reputation. They feed off the media.”
Regardless of what you may think about the Sussexes, they do need to rebrand themselves, as the polls do not lie. But how they go about doing that is anyone’s guess. Time will tell how it all plays out moving forward.
So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
