Prince Andrew’s chances of clearing his name are very slim.
Prince Andrew’s Chances Of Clearing His Name Are ‘Slim And None,’ Says Royal Expert Michael Cole
That is according to royal expert Michael Cole. The Duke of York has been relegated from royal life and has taken a back seat following allegations that he had sexually assaulted Virgina Guiffre.
While he denied doing anything of the sort, he did settle out of court. In addition, his links to Jeffrey Epstein also tarnished his reputation, given that the latter was implicated in sex trafficking.
And yet, reports have indicated that Andrew could seek a legal challenge to counter Guiffre’s account. In addition, there are suggestions that Andrew may write a memoir to get his standing in order.
But for all the efforts, Cole does not see this having a positive impact. In his comments, he said: “Prince Andrew has got two chances of success in this: slim and none.
“He feels now he can prove these allegations against him… He should forget about it.” This begs the question: is it a wise move to challenge this? Well, it is important to consider the following.
First of all, if Andrew wants a way back into public life as a leading member of the firm, then he may want to press ahead and fight back. Secondly, the other alternative is to leave things as they stand since he has a civil agreement.
And given that he was not criminally charged, he would be able to focus on other matters: one being, his daughter Princess Eugenie. The former is on course to give birth to her second child in the summer.
The social media response was very clear. Large numbers of people made it clear that they felt Andrew had something to answer for, which is why he should be counting his blessings that he was not criminally indicted.
One person wrote: “We KNOW Prince Andrew was guilty. Why isn’t he being charged?” So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
