Commentator Nile Gardiner has voiced his concern regarding the purported schism between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, as the couple have experienced a decrease in approval ratings after the launch of Spare.
Harry And Meghan’s ‘Hatchet Job Attack On The Royal Family’ Has Backfired-Says Nile Gardener
He heavily criticised Harry’s harsh condemnation of the Royal Family. After all, the Duke of Sussex made a number of damning revelations against the firm.
This included accusations that Prince William had attacked him, which resulted in Harry falling down on a dog bowl. Not only that, but he went on to refer to Queen Consort Camilla as a ‘villain.’
Just when you thought that was bad enough, Harry admitted that this father, King Charles III, would do upside-down headstands half-naked. But these admissions appear to have backfired.
In his comments, Nile said: “My view is that Harry’s hatchet job attack on the Royal Family has been a really vicious piece of work, actually, and it has spectacularly backfired on both Harry and Meghan.”
Those comments do have some credence when we look at recent polls which have put the Sussexes in a negative light.
A recent YouGov poll has revealed that the approval ratings for Harry have apparently sunk to their lowest point since the release of the book Spare, which currently holds the title of the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever.
Out of the 1,691 British adults surveyed, 68% now have a negative opinion of the Prince, a 22% rise from September 2022 before either Spare or the Netflix docuseries series were available.
Meanwhile, in the United States, 34% of those surveyed have a negative opinion of Harry, a six percent rise since December 2022. And there is no getting away from that.
Nile’s following comments confirmed as much: “I do think we are beginning to see divisions in camp Harry and Meghan, because this book has been absolutely disastrous.”
