An expert on the Royal Family, Daniela Elser, has called Prince Harry a hypocrite, arguing that he can’t have it both ways when it comes to his privacy.

Elser expressed how Harry has expressed the importance of his own privacy, but then disregarded the Royal Family’s own privacy without any consideration.
This has been seen through his conduct since leaving the Royal Family in 2020. The timing of his controversial Oprah Winfrey interview coincided with the deterioration in health of the late Prince Philip.
Meanwhile, Harry’s memoir and Netflix docuseries which criticised the firm, came out shortly after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
And this did not sit very well with Daniela, especially since Harry has accused the firm of leaking stories about him and Meghan, which he has by all accounts done the same through his own narratives about the firm.
In her comments, she said: “Harry can’t have his Battenberg cake and eat it too. He can’t perch atop the mount, preaching about the error of his family’s ways and their willingness to tattle about him and then engage in exactly the same sort of tit-for-tat revelations.”
Nevertheless, it is important to bear in mind the following points. First of all, supporters of Harry may argue that privacy should allow him to dictate what he wants to release, as opposed to having things attributed to him.
Secondly, this also may relate to having control over the timing of when things are disclosed. Regardless of what the case may be, the fans on social media made their position clear.
A large proportion of people agreed with Daniela’s comments, as they felt Harry had to accept that there would be pushback to his revelations. One person wrote: “#PrinceHarry publicly lying makes him fair game for people to comment.”
