Princess Eugenie broke the mould when she decided to attend the 2022 Super Bowl with Prince Harry.
Why Was Princess Eugenie’s 2022 Super Bowl Appearance With Harry Significant?
She had become the first member of the firm to be spotted with the Sussexes at a public place since their exit from the firm in 2020. In the picture here, we can see the two sitting next to each other as they watch the game with their masks on.
This was a major step since the Sussexes had alienated themselves with most members of the firm due to comments regarding the institution since their exit, as per the Oprah Winfrey interview and Harry’s memoir, Spare.
And at the time that was a bold move by Eugenie. Duncan Larcombe, who happens to be a royal expert, had this to say: “Eugenie is breaking ranks from the rest of the royals by being seen so publicly to endorse Harry and Meghan in their new life.
“It endorses what they said about the royals. No other member of the family would be seen dead anywhere near Harry and Meghan.”
This begs the question: why would Eugenie decide to attend? Well, aside from being close to Harry, reports have indicated that she could move to the US too. She is currently pregnant and expected to give birth to her baby in the summer.
And provided that everything goes ahead as planned, there could be a new start for her and her husband Jack Brooksbank. A source confirmed as much: “With a growing family, it all feels like it is about new starts. This isn’t just a pipe dream.”
The response on social media was positive. A certain subset of people supported this move, as it could keep the Sussexes’ in check. After all, Eugenie had other issues closer to home to deal with.
One person wrote: “I personally think Eugiene has more to worry about with her dad than Harry and Meghan. Nice try by Camilla though for ringing you on the bat phone.”
