Things couldn’t have gone more perfectly for Carmelo Hayes during NXT Vengeance Day. He was able to close the book on his feud with Apollo Crews, defeating him 2-0 in a Best 2 Out Of 3 Falls match. Following this, he would call his shot against NXT Champion Bron Breakker – helping to close the show as Breakker celebrated on top of the steel cage. Tonight, we hear from Hayes – and will hear just when he wants to meet Breakker with that belt on the line.
Carmelo Hayes Gets Interrupted By JD McDonagh, Grayson Waller Suspended
Hayes would get hyped up by Williams, before saying that he called his shot – that he’d get two straight, and Crews couldn’t prevent that. When Hayes calls his shots, they simply don’t miss – and that’s why he can take the nickname “HIM”. There is only one man left for Hayes in NXT to defeat, one jersey left to hang up in the rafters – and only one stage big enough for that.
JD McDonagh would stomp out to the ring before Bron Breakker would be mentioned, and while he admits Hayes is cool – he can’t hang with someone like McDonagh. Hayes isn’t ready for the big title, or to be the face of NXT. McDonagh thought he beat everyone on this brand, but he overlooked McDonagh – who was just sitting on the bench. There is a simple way to find out who is better, and that’s just running the match tonight in the main event.
After this match, we’d catch the footage from the Vengeance Day media call, when Grayson Waller would interrupt Shawn Michaels. He let frustration get the better of him, and has a one week suspension – keeping him off TV and the weekend’s live events – taking some pay days away. Waller wants to know why he can’t be ‘the guy’, and the answer might be his attitude.
Zoey Stark Gets Sol Snatched After The Bell
Once upon a time, Zoey Stark was viewed as the fastest rising star of the NXT brand. This was before she became an NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion and returned from injury with a touch of bitterness, and now – she’s just viewed someone who has captured her rookie potential – as a future champion. Instead, Sol Ruca is now where Stark used to be, improving at a rapid rate and winning fans over.
Stark would throw Ruca into the corner, only for the rookie to handspring back out and get an arm drag. Ruca would be able to send Stark to the floor, as Booker T said the last time he saw someone with such raw potential was when WCW briefly had a rookie by the name of AJ Styles. Back in the ring, Stark would hit a sliding lariat before applying a cravate.
Ruca would be able to fight free and block a Snapmare – landing on her feet. A Sunset Flip got a two count, but Stark fired back with a stiff lariat. Hitting the ropes for some speed would help Ruca with some shoulder tackles before the dropkick – before a Front Handspring Splash into the corner. Stark was able to avoid a top rope splash, and got the Go To Stark for the dominant victory.
After the bell, she’d keep the beating coming – only to be caught with the Sol Snatcher out of the corner, leaving her laying. Will Zoey Stark get a chance to become NXT Women’s Champion at Stand & Deliver? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
