Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s unexpected absence from several high-profile Hollywood events that took place during the Oscars is very telling.
Harry And Meghan’s Absence From The Oscar’s Was Telling-Says Tom Bower
That is according to Tom Bower. Bower, a royal expert and author, gained success with his best-selling biography titled Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors.
The book provided insights into Meghan’s life before she became a member of the royal family. Bower indicated that the fact that Meghan and Harry did not attend the Oscars’ exclusive events implies that they are losing their influence among celebrities.
In his comments, he said: “They weren’t even invited to Elton John’s party at the Oscars. They really are nobodies in Hollywood.”
It was previously rumored that Sarah Ferguson would also be present at the Oscars and might even hand out an award on behalf of the Presley family. However, these reports were proven false as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the only ex-royals in attendance.
And yet, every year during the Oscars ceremony, Elton John hosts a viewing party that usually draws lesser-known celebrities, those who are not among the invitees of the Academy Awards.
The Elton John AIDS foundation was the beneficiary of funds raised by the event. Celebrities like Emma Watson, and Troye Sivan were among the attendees at this year’s event.
The foundation not only invites celebrities but also offers tickets to the public for the event. This makes the viewing party less exclusive compared to the Oscars.
Bower cautioned the King that if he kept on accommodating the contentious Duke and Duchess of Sussex, he could endanger the standing of the Monarchy in the perception of the British people.
After being invited to the King’s coronation on May 6, the Sussexes have not yet made a decision on whether they will attend. The remarks were made in response to this confirmation.
He added: “He’s not being decisive and he’s going to undermine the state of the monarchy in Britain if he’s not very careful. They haven’t got to come.
“If they’re put in row 54 behind a column they won’t come, which is exactly what should happen.” It is fair to say that the Sussexes do need to rebrand in order to improve their image.
