According to reports, Janina Gavankar, a close friend of Meghan Markle, was in attendance at the live recording of Chris Rock’s popular Netflix show Selective Outrage.
Meghan Markle’s Friend Janina Gavankar Was Enjoying Chris Rock’s Show Despite The Comedian Humiliating The Duchess
During the show, Gavankar witnessed the comedian making fun of Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. Sources have confirmed that Janina Gavankar, a close friend of Prince Harry’s wife for more than two decades and a strong supporter of her, was present in the VIP Green Room along with her good friend Dave Chapelle to watch the show.
In May 2018, Gavankar attended the wedding of the Sussexes as a guest. Later, she appeared on British television to discuss the Royal Family’s response to the Oprah interview, in which they stated that there may be different recollections regarding the couple’s difficult experiences within the palace.
Gavankar responded to the family’s assertions that they were not fully informed about Meghan’s challenges during her time as a member of the working royal family, refuting their claims.
During her comments at the time, she remarked: “Though their ‘recollections may vary,’ ours don’t because we lived through it with them.
“And there are many emails and texts to support that.” With that being said, at his performance, Rock made fun of the interview given by the Sussexes to Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
In that interview, the couple had claimed that someone from the royal family had expressed concerns about the skin color of their baby before Archie was born. Rock joked that Markle was simply facing some ‘in-law problems.’
While that may have been the case, it appears that Janina had a time to remember. A source confirmed the following: “Janina looked to be enjoying the show very much, she was standing up by the TV screens and laughing.”
