Perhaps in no surprise to anyone, former WWE Women’s Tag Team champion Naomi is no longer with WWE. If you remember, she walked out of the company with Mercedes Moné (Sasha Banks) on May 2022.
Naomi is No Longer with WWE Following Months of Uncertainty About Her Return to the Company
During that period, WWE spun things to present Moné and Naomi as unprofessional and not team players after the duo left as a result of irreconcilable creative differences. After the buzz died down around them walking out, there was nothing of note until Mercedes Moné announced her name change and joined New Japan Pro-Wrestling at the end of 2022.
As Naomi, she was stuck in indefinite suspension the whole time. It really had some fans wondering what happened to her and what her status was with the company. There was nothing that indicated that she’d been released nor was there any indication that she’d return to the company. In short, Naomi was in a weird state with WWE.
Recently, Naomi posted a promotional image to her Instagram that she would be WrestleCon during WrestleMania weekend. A fan asked if she was “even still in WWE” to which she responded “no frien”. So, it seems that she’s out of the company and could announce a name change soon for potential wrestling appearances.
She’s staying busy with acting and modeling but would you like to see her back in the ring? Do you see her back in action soon or will it be a while before we see her—maybe to fill out a future women’s Royal Rumble match?
