On May 6th, 2023, at King Charles III’s coronation, Prince George will be at the forefront of a significant procession from Westminster Abbey, leading the younger members of the Royal Family.
Prince George Will Have A Starring Role At Charles’ Coronation
After the service, it is expected that the King and Queen Consort Camilla will be joined by George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis as they exit the Abbey.
As they make their way back to Buckingham Palace, Charles and Camilla will be riding in the Golden State Coach while the children follow in a carriage behind them.
It is anticipated that the entire family will be traveling together. Last year, during the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration, the royal children entertained the crowds by waving at them.
They made an appearance on the palace balcony to witness the flypast, which caused Louis to cover his ears in response to the loud noise of the aircraft flying overhead, resulting in some amusing reactions.
During the Jubilee Pageant’s final day celebrations, Louis had a heartwarming experience with his grandfather, Charles, where he sat on his lap as the parade passed by the royal box.
This is significant in light of the following reasons. First of all, according to the Times newspaper, Prince Harry and Meghan’s kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have not received an invitation to the Coronation yet.
The event coincides with Archie’s fourth birthday, which may have played a factor. Secondly, when the coronation takes place, George will be nine years old, while his younger brother Louis will be five. Charlotte, who is their sister, will turn eight four days before the event.
And given that George and Charlotte went to Westminster Abbey to attend the state funeral of their great grandmother, who was the Queen, it is clear that the children are deemed ready. This may be in contrast to the Sussexes’ children, who are all younger.
The social media response was full of praise. A certain subset of people made it clear that the children would be honoring the legacy of the late Queen which is what she would have wanted.
One person wrote: “As it should be. QEII. RIP will, would be proud. I suggest H&M stay home in Calif. KC3 can give the seats to people who appreciate the honor of being at his coronation. Not use it for photos & publicity. IMO.”
