Now that it’s been verified that Bill Goldberg’s contract with the WWE is over and he’s officially a free agent, there’s plenty of talk about him returning with another company.
Of course, the only choice for fans would be AEW, which has been the landing spot for many former WWE talent over the last couple of years.
Tony Kahn Eyeing Bill Goldberg as Potential AEW Addition
Tony Kahn has deep pockets and he’s not afraid to play fantasy wrestling or collect the wrestler. We’re sure there are other terms that can be used, but those tickle our fancy.
To be fair, Kahn’s given numerous former stars a chance to rekindle their passion while collecting a good paycheck, and there’s a chance Goldberg will be next.
Maybe as soon as tonight (March 22)’s AEW Dynamite.
Tony Khan on Goldberg: “He’s a very nice person…I think he’s a household name in pro wrestling and and certainly that’s interesting to hear that Bill is a free agent so that’s something to follow. He’s one of the biggest names in wrestling. Certainly will be something else to… https://t.co/EoCyYnpk06

Worth watching
While Kahn has been kind enough to make sure wrestlers have a chance to get a good paycheck and stay employed when other companies may release them, he’s taken a lot of heat for the bloated AEW roster and how he’s unable to use everyone.
When he bought ROH (Ring of Honor), it gave him an outlet for a mix of the talent from veterans to younger talent to help the newer wrestlers hone their skills while putting on entertaining television.
Goldberg’s been drawn into this discussion and rightly so in some ways. He may be older and only does a few appearances, but he is a fan favorite and has been since his initial run in WCW.
Tony Kahn talked about the potential for Goldberg to appear in AEW when he spoke with Adrian Hernandez of The Bet Las Vegas & The Sporting Tribune.
“I have a lot of respect for Bill. I think Bill Goldberg is a great professional athlete and has had a great career in pro wrestling. He is a very nice person.
“I think he’s a household name in pro wrestling. And certainly, that’s interesting to hear that Bill is a free agent. That’s something to follow. He’s one of the biggest names in wrestling and certainly will be something else to keep an eye on for us. We have so many great wrestlers in AEW and so many exciting things happening in AEW week to week that it’s always an exciting time. Bill is an exceptionally exciting name and one of the biggest names in the sport. Certainly, it’s a big thing for us to pay attention to, so I would take notice of that.”
While this doesn’t mean he’ll sign Goldberg, the former WCW and WWE talent would be a marketable name as even his detractors will probably tune in to see how Kahn handles him.
AEW has plenty of talent to feed to him if there’s a significant plan for Goldberg or even if he only appears here or there.
What do you think? Should Kahn sign Goldberg or should Goldberg continue enjoying his retirement? Let us know in the comments below.
