Last night, we would see the Unified WWE Tag Team Championships change hands in the main event of WrestleMania 39 Saturday.
The Usos took on a very determined Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn – and got a special entrance before they hit the ring. Rapper Lil Uzi Vert, who has 36 million monthly listeners on Spotify, would make a quick performance before The Usos entered their first WrestleMania main event – and Vert hopes to be the one getting into the ring in 2024.
Lil Uzi Vert Intends To Be Involved With WrestleMania 40, Wants To Wrestle Dominik Mysterio
A lifelong wrestling fan, Lil Uzi Vert was excited to be involved with WrestleMania, and during a backstage interview as able to say just how much this moment meant to him.
They would also say that they expect to be involved with WrestleMania 40 next year, as it hits their hometown of Philadelphia.
“I can’t believe I’m here, I can’t believe I saw so many people that I always wanted to see my whole life. I wanted to get in the ring, I was ready to get in the ring. But you’ll see me in April, Philadelphia 2024, so I don’t wanna give up all the surprises. But you’ll see me there.”
When asked who they want to face at WrestleMania 40 – he would respond by name dropping Dominik Mysterio. While they would need plenty of training time to make this happen, Vert has some prior training – getting some sessions in at The Nightmare Factory, a wrestling school with deep links to All Elite Wrestling.
Vert would be the latest celebrity to hit the ring, with Johnny Knoxville, Logan Paul & Bad Bunny making waves with their recent WWE runs.
Paul would wrestle Seth Rollins last night at WrestleMania 39, while Bad Bunny is expected to be back in the ring at Backlash next month in Puerto Rico.
The bar has been set high for celebrities hitting the ring, but it seems Vert has their head in the right space when it comes to WWE – and will be ready to put the work in.
