Over the past year, WWE fans have warmed up to the presence of Logan Paul. Over the course of five matches, Paul proved that he has the athletic skills to hang with the likes of Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins in huge singles matches.
He’s a natural fit for WWE. But following WrestleMania 39 – it was unclear if he was intending to lace up his boots again. This is no longer a fear, as Paul has signed a new deal with WWE.
Logan Paul Is Sticking With WWE
Logan Paul would confirm this news earlier today on Twitter, simply saying ‘contract renewed’ above a picture of him with Triple H. Paul would speak with ESPN about continuing with WWE. He had the following to say.
“I feel incredibly blessed to have found something that I’m good at, at 28 years old. And the fact that the organization believes I’m good enough to continue hopefully building this WWE legacy is mind blowing. I’m incredibly grateful and incredibly blessed. As long as I can keep putting on good shows, man, I’m gonna keep doing this sport,
It’s likely that after the success of Paul in 2022 & 2023 for WWE – that we see more frequent matches from him on big stages. There’s a solid chance that we even see him win gold in the coming years.
The United States Championship is potentially the perfect fit for Paul. Currently Austin Theory is the champion, having successfully defended against John Cena at WrestleMania 39. Regardless of what Paul does next – it could be must see.
Renewing Existing Contracts Doesn’t Go Against The Hiring Freeze
There is some confusion with the timing of this news – as many publications have spoken about a hiring freeze in WWE right now. With the merger with Endeavor in progress, WWE is not looking to bring in any new names for shows like Monday Night RAW or Smackdown Live.
However, a hiring freeze would not impact renewing existing contracts – which is what we are seeing with Logan Paul. There’s also a chance that Paul had an second year option in his original contract, and that was simply picked up.
