During the New Japan Cup tournament in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Will Ospreay would go down to injury. He would have Mark Davis of Aussie Open fill his spot in the tournament, with Davis making it to the semi-finals – losing to eventual tournament victor, SANADA.
Ospreay is one of the most in-demand stars outside of WWE in professional wrestling right now, meaning many are wondering when he will be back – and he has an update on the status of his shoulder.
Will Ospreay Has Regained Some Motion In Shoulder, Struggles With Strength Still
Taking to Twitter, Ospreay would have the following to say about his shoulder – having regained more range of motion, but doesn’t want to rush the return and be out for ever longer.
“Just an update for you all.
I have more range of motion in my shoulder but still struggling with strength.
I think I’ll be ok but I’m just going through my physio with this as I don’t wanna come back too early and this thing rip off.
Much love, miss you all.”
Pushing To Return By AEW All In At Wembley Stadium
Ospreay would recently express interest in being part of the upcoming AEW All In event, set for August from Wembley Stadium. Being one of the top wrestlers from the UK, getting a chance to steal the show in the biggest stadium in the country would mean a lot to Ospreay.
Right now, he has a ready made match in AEW – as the rematch with Kenny Omega over the IWGP United States Championship remains ready to go.
It’s likely Ospreay will push to return by that event – giving him four months to recover. Shoulder injuries can be tricky to return from, and the path to recovery is never easy in professional wrestling.
We’ve already missed out on two major Ospreay matches as part of WrestleMania weekend, as he was intended to face Mike Bailey at Impact/NJPW Multiverse United and was booked for ROH Supercard of Honor.
We here at TheOvertimer wish Ospreay a speedy and safe recovery – and hope to see him back in the ring very soon. What is your favorite Will Ospreay match? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
