Recently, we would see AEW smash their previously set attendance record with the pre-sale of All In. Their UK debut is set for August in the iconic Wembley Stadium, and just from pre-sales, AEW sold 45,000 tickets. Now, general admission has been opened – and AEW is on their way to selling out one of the biggest stadiums in the world.
AEW All In Passes 60,00 Tickets Sold
Chris Jericho would confirm the ticket sales have passed the 60,000 mark – posting the following to Instagram.
“They said we couldn’t do it….and yet here we are at 60,000 tickets sold by the first day of general sales!! Aew has created a MONSTER…and I plan to lead the charge. See you in August Wembley Stadium! #TheOcho #JerichoForever #AllIn”
Considering there is no matches yet announced for All In, and there is three months left to sell tickets – they are expected to pass 80,000 tickets sold before long. When WWE ran the venue for Summerslam in 1992, which had an announced attendance of 80,355.
Will This Be A PPV Event – Or Air On A Streaming Service?
There is still sparse details on how fans will be able to watch this event globally. AEW has not announced it as a PPV, and intends to run All Out in the United States the following weekend. There is potential for this to be aired on the successor to HBO Max – simply known as MAX. AEW has been rumoured to be joining the service this year, and getting an event the scale of All In infront of that many viewers could truly change the game for AEW.
Many still look at AEW as someone who is second to WWE – but seeing an event infront of this many fans could finally make people take AEW more seriously. We can expect a very strong card for this event, but potentially one that more caters to casual fans as much as the usual hardcore fans.
