2023 is set to be the biggest year in the history of All Elite Wrestling – thanks to one major event. Their debut in the UK is coming in August, and Tony Khan decided to go big for this debut – setting up a show in the iconic Wembley Stadium.
Able to fit up to 90,000 fans – WWE fans might remember this being the home of Summerslam 1992. The presale launched earlier today, and this is already the highest drawing event in AEW history.
Tony Khan Announces 36,000 Tickets Sold During Pre-Sale For AEW All In
Tony Khan would announce the results of the presale for All In – saying that they have already sold 36,000 tickets for this event. Khan had the following to say via Twitter.
”Today’s one of the best days in AEW history
Thank you to all buying AEW All In tickets today, off to an AMAZING start already
36,000 sold for £3.8M ($4.7M) + we’re only getting started, more great seats are going on-sale!”
The Highest Drawing Show In AEW History – With No Matches Announced, And Before General Admission Tickets Go On Sale
This is before AEW even launches public ticket sales, with the pre-sale mostly reserved for those who have signed up for AEW+ or shopped via ShopAEW. General tickets are yet to be released for this event, with those expected to be available very soon. There is also not a single match or segment announced for this show, and three months left to sell tickets for this event.
The previous highest attendance for an AEW show was 20,177 for AEW Grand Slam 2021. This show is on track to be the highest attendance for a United States based promotion that isn’t WWE, with that record held by WCW – who drew 40,000 fans to the Georgia Dome on January 4th, 1999 – a show infamous for the finger poke of doom.
Simply put, this is a show that is quickly changing the narrative of AEW. There is potential for them to run massive shows – and as they continue to gain momentum, bigger and bigger events will follow.
