When The Rock jumped from WWE to Hollywood in the early 2000’s, he proved that the on-screen charisma required to be a star in the squared circle can lead to major success.
Since then, the likes of John Cena, Batista and Roman Reigns have entered Hollywood – with many more wrestlers wanting to make that dream come true. We are yet to see a member of the women’s division make the same splash, but one name eyeing the silver screen is Rhea Ripley.
Rhea Ripley Turned Down Movie Role Due To Busy WWE Scheduling
When asked about aspirations to act in movies during an interview with the Cheap Heat podcast – Ripley had the following to say.
I mean, it could be. Quite possibly. I feel like if I were to do a movie, it would have to be like an action or a horror. I don’t think I could really do anything else, but I’ve definitely thought about it.
She would even reveal that she was asked to be part of a movie a few years back, but her already busy schedule prevented this from happening. Wanting to still have time to spend with her dogs, she turned it down.
”I legit would never be home and I’d never get to see my dogs if I accepted the role, so just I couldn’t do it.”
At The Start Of A Potentially Historic Reign
Ripley would recently retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship against an emotional Zelina Vega during WWE Backlash in Puerto Rico.
There is little time for Ripley to enjoy this victory however, already entering a new feud ahead of WWE Night of Champions later this month. She is expected to face a veteran of the division in Natalya in the Saudi Arabia hosted event, a match which heavily favours Ripley.
This reign as champion could well be the one that defines the career of Ripley to come. Wining the Royal Rumble to earn the shot, and then almost stealing the show at a two night WrestleMania with Charlotte Flair was an incredible start.
Her match with Vega was solid, and so should her upcoming match with Natayla. It’s only just getting started – and could end up being another historic reign.
