When WWE Hall of Famer Edge would form a new faction after a brief heel turn – few would have expected the direction the group would go in. Edge took Damien Priest & Rhea Ripley under his wing, only to be ousted as leader by Finn Balor.
Since then, the group would add Dominik Mysterio to their ranks, and have had a steady climb ever since. However, in 2023 – there is still room for this group to go, and a recent call up from the NXT roster is being eyed as that next piece.
Protege Of Finn Balor To Join The Judgement Day?
Formerly known in WWE as Jordan Devlin, JD McDonagh would take steps to reinvent himself after leaving NXT UK. Originally trained by Finn Balor, the irish born superstar was one of the more consistent names on the NXT roster – always delivering high quality performances on NXT TV and PPV events. It was no shock that he was chosen to join the Monday Night RAW roster in the 2023 WWE Draft as a result.
McDonagh finished up in NXT with a match against Dragon Lee, and has yet to appear on Monday Night RAW. Part of this could be due to him being considered to join Balor as a member of The Judgement Day.
This news comes from Twitter user Boozer666, who is someone with backstage links to WWE – often one of the first to release new scoops. Their account is marked as private on Twitter, with scoops slipping out through their followers.
JD McDonagh To be Introduced To WWE Fans Tonight On Monday Night RAW
The plans to add McDonagh to the faction are intended to begin on tonight’s episode of Monday Night RAW – with the first video packages of McDonagh set to air as well. McDonagh is leaving NXT with more hype than most due to his fantastic final match on Tuesday nights, and adding him to a hot group like Judgement Day can only help him rise up the card.
Following WWE Backlash, Damien Priest is being viewed as a potential main event name on Monday Night RAW. This would likely put Finn Balor as someone to chase the WWE Intercontinental Championship in the faction.
Dominik Mysterio & JD McDonagh as a tag team is a very strong possibility given the layout of the faction, with both being rising stars with fast paced in-ring styles.
