Bianca Belair has been nearly unbeatable for the past year. She has taken down challenger after challenger as RAW Women’s Champion, including Asuka at WrestleMania 39. After taking down Iyo Sky in Puerto Rico, Belair would be faced with Asuka once again – who is determined to show that WrestleMania was a fluke at best.
More unhinged than ever before, Asuka has a past of being violent when pushed to the edge, and tonight could be the hardest night of Belair’s reign as a result.
Bianca Belair Was Ready For Asuka
Asuka would quickly take Belair to the mat with a side headlock takeover, with Belair wrestling her way free. Belair would hit some strikes on the mat before a shoulder tackle would drop Asuka. Asuka would avoid the back handspring moonsault, nailing a quick dropkick to the chest.
Belair would fire back with a dropkick of her own, before the scoop slam set up another moonsault attempt. Asuka avoided again, before rolling to the floor. Belair was lured to the floor, and drug into the steel steps by her braid. Back in the ring, a German Suplex set up an armbar – with Belair wiggling free.
Asuka would follow up with a kick to the arm, before stomping on the shoulder. The braid of Belair was used once again, whipping her to the mat. Asuka hit some running strikes, building momentum – hitting a big suplex and spear into the corner.
Asuka would take some downward punches in the corner, but again used the braid to get free – only to be pulled into a backbreaker. The moonsault would finally land, getting Belair a two count. Asuka would hit a missile dropkick out of the corner, getting a near fall of her own.
The End Of A Dominant Reign
Asuka would smile as she would break down the champion, and pull her to the mat with a Fujiwara Armbar. Belair would show her power as she set up a spinebuster to break free, but only got a two count for her efforts. Back handspring moonsault would be caught into the Asuka Lock, with Belair countering with a pinfall.
Glam Slam would be blocked, and Asuka hit a buzzsaw kick in response – before being thrown to the floor. Asuka would pull Belair out by her hair, only to be driven into the steel steps. An outside brawl would almost lead to a double countout, with Belair shoving Asuka back into the ring – giving her the high ground.
Belair would be relentless in the corner, but narrowly avoided the mist from Asuka. KOD would be blocked and a flying armbar followed.
Asuka would be lifted into a powerbomb, but blew mist onto her hand. She’d rake the mist across the face of Belair and hit the Buzzsaw Kick for the victory – ending Belairs reign at 420 days.
