Last week, we would see the return of Andrade El Idolo – who would defeat Buddy Matthews using the Figure Eight Leg Lock. Andrade would be attacked after the bell by the rest of House of Black, and this week will face another member from the AEW World Trios Champions in Brody King.
King is a dominant powerhouse, so while Andrade could match the aggression of Matthews, he is unlikely to find the same success with King tonight… especially after Matthews aggravated the previously injured pec of Andrade.
Andrade El Idolo Faces A Dangerous Man
Andrade was wearing some tape as this match began, but was able to duck a chop from King before applying a headlock. King would shove him off, and Andrade would use his speed to hit a basement dropkick before being shoved into the corner.
A set of boots would set up a reverse headscissor takedown, before King tried to throw Andrade from the ring – but Andrade would catch himself in the ropes and pose instead.
King would be lured to the apron, where he was shoved into the ring post, and Andrade would dive onto him from the top rope with a picture perfect moonsault.
Back in the ring, this only got a one count. Andrade would go after the knee of King with some stomps, setting up that Figure Eight Leg Lock – as submissions on giants sometimes are best.
King meanwhile had a more simple gameplan, setting Andrade up on the ropes and chopped him to the floor. Andrade would be tossed into the barricade, before trading chops with King in the ring – but quickly losing out and being forced into the corner. King would assert his dominance, and Andrade was launched with a snap suplex.
Buddy Matthews Ensures Brody King Doesn’t Suffer The Same Fate
Andrade was sent off the ropes, but couldn’t use the gained speed before running into a chop. A jawbreaker would land on King, before a dropkick to the knee which caused King to hit a turnbuckle face first.
Andrade would head to the apron and hit a Dragon Screw through the ropes, setting up a crossbody and another Dragon Screw.
A flying forearm smash would land flush on the jaw of King, but Andrade was unable to get a pinfall. Hammerlock DDT would be blocked as King drove Andrade into the corner, before hitting a Rolling Elbow.
King tried to use a Death Valley Driver across the ring, but the knee buckled. He’d push forward and jam Andrade into the corner before the cannonball senton.
Ganzo Bomb would be blocked as Andrade moved free before hitting a chop block. Figure Four would be applied, but Julia Hart grabbed the mask of Andrade – a major distraction.
Andrade would manage a spinning back elbow to the face before applying the hold – only for Buddy Matthews to rush in and attack Andrade – ending this match in a DQ.
Andrade took a two on one attack, ending in Dante’s Inferno. No help came for Andrade – and the House has won once again.
Christian Cage Is Home In Canada… And Is Let Down
Wardlow was screwed out of the TNT Championship last week, as Christian Cage would smash a camera over his head – practically handing the belt to Luchasarus.
Tonight, we will hear from Cage who will be the voice of the champion during his reign. Even better, Cage returns home to Canada – and is expecting nothing less than a hero’s welcome.
Cage had the TNT Championship over his shoulder on his way to the ring, Cage was met by the chants of adoring fans. Last week, he left Collision in a bad mood – but it was okay, because he was going to return home with the TNT Championship. However, now he’s in a worse mood – because this city has only bred losers since he left, and while they’re okay by being mediocre.
The Toronto Maple Leafs finally win a playoff round after twenty years, and proceed to choke and embarrass themselves. Their lone glimmer of hope came with the Raptors in 2019, which was a carry job by Kawhi Leonard. Cage is a friend of Leonard’s, but told him that to find real success – he needs to leave.
About the TNT Championship, you need to earn a title shot – no more open challenges. You can to fight and earn it. There was a many who treated this championship as a vanity belt, but Cage isn’t like that. He intends to make this belt the most important thing in AEW, and will be the face of TNT forever.
Will Luchasaurus accept Cage parading around as TNT Champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
