Last week, Chris Jericho & Sammy Guevara got into an argument – as thhe question was posed, is Jericho holding the 3x TNT Champion back. Darby Allin & Sting got involved, and Jericho’s solution was to get a trios match booked for tonight.
Joining Jericho & Guevara is NJPW‘s Minoru Suzuki – who they teamed with at Forbidden Door last year. Facing down Action Andretti, Darius Martin & AR Fox – Jericho has a chance at revenge over Andretti, and a chance to fix his relationship with his protege. Suzuki might be in the late years of his career, but he remains one of the most sadistic men to ever enter a ring.
Chaotic Trios Action As Minoru Suzuki Shows Why He’s The King
Guevara & Andretti would begin this match, and were able to match each other in terms of speed. Suzuki would get the tag, as Martin got the tag to meet him in the ring.
Martin is a good striker, but Suzuki would smirk after his strikes before buckling his knees with a single forearm shot – and dropping him with a second.
Jericho got the tag and hit the double shoulder tackle, before posing with Suzuki. Fox would get the tag and briefly stunned Jericho, but Guevara hit the cheap shot from the apron – setting up the backdrop from Jericho.
Guevara got Fox up for the delayed vertical suplex, letting blood rush to the head before dropping him for a two count. Jericho would get the tag and would boot Fox in the jaw.
Suzuki would punish Fox with some of his legendary chops, before a rear chinlock let Guevara press the advantage. Fox was able to get a desperate hurricanrana off, and found the hand of Andretti – and Jericho was met by a man with a pinfall win over him.
Andretti would stand and fight with Jericho, before diving onto Guevara and hitting a springboard lariat on Jericho from the apron.
Shotgun dropkick would set up the split legged moonsault – but Jericho avoided this, before Suzuki applied the rear naked choke. Martin broke this up, and Suzuki tried to break his jaw with a forearm smash. Guevara hit a double cutter, before Fox dropped him with a missile dropkick.
Jericho was faked out as Fox reversed his dive to the floor, and Andretti hit him with a springboard enziguri and running Shooting Star Press for a near fall.
Fox would try to control the match, but was dropped by the Gotch Style Piledriver. Martin was legal, but fell to the Liontamer.
Sting Wants Some Time With Chris Jericho
After the match, Reene Paquette would ask what it was like for Jericho to come face to face with The Icon Sting. Jericho would call it a monumental moment for professional wrestling, and excited just about everyone… except for Jericho.
Sting is an egotistical man, and Jericho knows him very well. He only shows up where the money is best, and would be challenged for Forbidden Door.
That is, if Allin & Sting can find a partner. Sting & Allin would be called cowards, and marched to the ring. The Icon asked why Jericho is so uptight, and they had a great moment this past week.
However, Sting wants some time with Jericho – and will get that on Sunday at Forbidden Door. Allin would remind Jericho that he made a lot of enemies in a lot of places, and they have the perfect guy. Jericho would ask who it was – and Allin said he’ll find out on Saturday night.
