FTR have little time to rest after their recent epic with Bullet Club Gold. Being the AEW World Tag Team Champions, they always need to be ready to face their next challengers, and that comes in the form of Adam Cole & MJF.
Having won the Blind Draw Tag Team Eliminator Tournament, defeating Daniel Garcia & Sammy Guevara in the finals. This title match comes next week, but tonight – we will hear from the champions.
FTR Promise Crush Adam Cole & MJF Next Week
Wheeler would list off a list of teams in AEW they have unfinished business with, with the likes of Aussie Open & The Young Bucks at the top of that list.
However, first – they need to deal with their old friend MJF. As part of The Pinnacle, FTR got first hand exposure to the snake that is MJF – and Wheeler would urge Adam Cole to not trust him.
Harwood would tell a story from his childhood, being bullied for needing to have a job when he was a kid. He promised himself to punch those privileged kids in the face, but never got the chance.
However, Cole & MJF remind him of those kids, two guys who have treated tag team wrestling like a joke during the tournament.
FTR have given their all to boost tag team wrestling, while MJF & Cole have had dance breaks in the ring. There will be no dance breaks, no comedy, but MJF & Cole will be getting an ass kicking they will never forget.
Next week on AEW Collision we find out just what Cole & MJF are capable of, as they face the best tag team in the world today.
Taya Valkyrie Shows New Side Of Her Style
Taya Valkyrie has every reason to be upset in All Elite Wrestling. Since signing with the company she’s lost big match after big match, including three championship matches.
Her latest attempt came against Toni Storm in her hometown, and even then – she wasn’t able to seal the deal. Tonight, Valkyrie looks to get back on the winning side of things, as she faces a rising star in Skye Blue – which should be an easily winnable match for the veteran Valkyrie.
Valkyrie would shove Blue to the mat as this match began, flaunting her size and power. Blue grabbed a rear waist lock, but was thrown off with ease.
A running hurricanrana would find more success for Blue, before she went to the apron only to be sent flying to the floor with a big hip attack. Valkyrie would follow, and hit a big spear.
Back in the ring, Blue would pull Valkyrie into the mat by her hair – before being lifted into a huge Blue Thunder Bomb for a near fall.
Valkyrie would play to the crowd as Blue crawled to the corner, before catching her with a running double knee strike. A snapmare would take Blue down, before some overhand chops in the corner.
Shutting Skye Blue Down
We were seeing a more aggressive side of Valkyrie tonight, and Blue was struggling to keep up as a result. Blue would hit a shotgun dropkick to send up the rising knee, sending Valkyrie to her knees for a low angle enziguri.
Another rising knee would see Blue sent to the apron, but a strike to the back of the head and diving crossbody would follow.
SkyFall would be blocked, with Valkyrie placing her on the ropes for the sliding German Suplex. Blue would hit the ropes to try for something, but was cut down with a lariat before she had the chance. Valkyrie would stomp Blue face first into the mat, and claimed the victory.
After the bell, Valkyrie would admit things have not been going according to plan, but she got the win tonight. She would bring up the recent victory of Britt Baker over a local name, and would challenge Baker to face her next Wednedsday.
Will Taya Valkyrie be able to hang with Baker? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
