Last week, Jack Perry would hand the first defeat to HOOK – taking the FTW Championship in the process. This was far from a clean win, using the championship as a weapon before pinning Perry. Now, the man formerly known as Jungle Boy is a singles champion in AEW – and we will hear from him tonight.
The New FTW Champion Is Confronted By Jerry Lynn
Hitting the ring to Beethoven wearing an “I Beat HOOK” shirt and the signature Black & Orange colours, Perry was ensuring everyone knew what happened last week. Tony Schiavone would be in the ring for an interview, and Perry said he’d refocus and become a champion – and he did this.
Perry didn’t intend to win this belt, one invented in a second class company. It was never a recognized belt until he put his hands on it, and now it’s the real deal because Perry is the real deal. He’s the best wrestler to come within 100 feet of the belt, and an ECW legend would hit the ring in the form of Jerry Lynn.
Lynn was here to give Perry a history lesson, saying ECW paved the road for the likes of Perry to get into professional wrestling. If he keeps running his mouth, he’ll get his ass kicked. Lynn would drop the microphone and was ready to fight – but Perry was less than ready to fight. Instead, Lynn can fight on his time – and would be challenged to a match for next week.
PAC Is Finally Remembered By Gravity
When Gravity made his ROH debut, Tony Khan quickly found a chance to make a dream match. PAC was involved in the ROH World Championship match, and tonight The Man Gravity Forgot will get his chance at being remembered. Gravity proved himself as a talented luchador with a win over Komander, and has a chance to reach a new level tonight should he defeat someone as renowned as PAC.
PAC would stare down Gravity in the ring, before swinging a lariat and missing. Gravity would duck and hit a big dropkick, before a springboard armdrag. PAC would take an elbow smash and was sent to the floor, where Gravity hit a powerslam and a stalling splash. Back into the ring, PAC would drop Gravity and press his shin across the throat.
PAC would drive Gravity into the corner and choke him with his boot – having slowed the pace down. A tight side headlock would be applied, and Gravity was held down on the mat and fought to his feet only to be dropped once again. Gravity would run up the ropes for a crossbody, but only got a two count before being punished with a dropkick.
Avalanche Brainbuster would land, before Gravity was locked into the Brutalizer – forcing the submission. Gravity would suffer, PAC proving why you shouldn’t forget The Bastard.
