There are few super heavyweight wrestlers more recognizable than Paul Wight aka The Big Show. His size made him an instant main event name in WCW and that carried over to WWE.
Often billed at 7’2” and 500 lbs – Wight had the size to defeat anyone, and became a seven time World Champion and an 11 time World Tag Team Champion throughout his career. However, maintaining his size required a lot of calories, and has now revealed his old eating habits.
Paul Wight Would Eat 18 Thousand Calories A Day
While speaking with talkSPORT Breakfast, Wight would reveal what he used to eat when he was younger and pushing 500lbs.
“How much was I eating? Two or three deep-fried little people. No. It’s always a terrible joke. Probably my calorie intake back in the day, but understand it’s a lot of empty, bad calories because I used to just eat whatever I wanted in massive amounts. So I’d probably say somewhere around 13 to 18 thousand calories a day. You’d get Big Macs, I’d get three, four Big Macs, and I’d get fries and I’d get a shake and get apple pies and probably a fish sandwich in there too. It was nothing to go to Taco Bell and get like 20 tacos. You can do that when you’re younger, and you’re still gonna be big, but as you get older, you realize, ‘Ah, well, I can’t really eat like that anymore.’ Now I kind of feel like I eat like a mouse. I have about ten ounces of protein, I have a small portion of carbs and vegetables, try to eat halfway decent.”
Wight would reveal that he’s now closer to 400lbs, and is intending to return to the ring soon for AEW. His time in AEW has been mainly spent on commentary due to needing a knee surgery, but when asked if he still has it – Wight said he has enough to handle the schedule. He’s stated that he plans on being involved with AEW All In.
