We’re quickly closing in on All In, and one of the biggest announced matches will see the Blackpool Combat Club face Lucha Bros, Best Friends & Eddie Kingston in a Stadium Stampede Match.
While we don’t know who will join the BCC for this fight, we do know that Jon Moxley has a chance to take down a member of the opposing team.
Tonight, he meets Rey Fenix in singles action – meaning that he could cut the required number of partners to find down to two.
Jon Moxley & Rey Fenix Kick Off A Wicked Brawl
Fenix would rush at Moxley as the bell rang, setting the tone for this match as more of a fight. Moxley tried to toss Fenix from the ring but was met with a rebound kick, barely able to dodge.
Fenix would send Moxley from the ring and hit two fast suicide dives, keeping the pressure on but ending up in the Rear Naked Choke and having his mask torn up.
Fenix would try to recover, only to take a Curb Stomp on the floor. Moxley would drive Fenix into the barricade, before taking him into the ring to break the count.
Fenix would be pulled back to the floor and launched onto the ramp with a big back body drop. Moxley told the referee that Fenix was done, only for Fenix to pull himself back into the ring.
Some Terry Funk style jabs would land before a knee strike dropped Fenix. Moxley would apply a Kimura Lock, but was unable to get the submission.
Fenix would have his face stomped, but was able to bounce to his feet and hit a superkick. Moxley would fall, but was able to catch Fenix in a Rear Naked Choke.
Fenix was able to roll his way to freedom, and hit a double stomp to the face of Moxley before a rolling cutter for a two count.
A huge frog splash saw Fenix jump 3/4th across the ring and landed on Moxley for another near fall. Moxley tried for the Death Rider, but was rolled up for a two count.
Moxley Chokes Fenix Out, Santana & Ortiz Return To AEW
Fenix would be shoved off the ropes and come back with a springboard. Moxley hit the anti-air elbow, but Fenix managed to land a headbutt causing a double down.
Fenix & Moxley would get on their knees and exchange chops as they found their feet. A superkick from Fenix stunned Moxley, but he took too long setting up a dive. Moxley met him on the top rope, biting Fenix and hitting an Avalanche Death Rider.
Somehow, Fenix kicked out, but was taken right into a Rear Naked Choke. Moxley held on tight until Fenix stopped showing fight – and this match ended with a referee stoppage.
After the bell, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta rushed the ring with crowbars, intent to injure Fenix. Fenix took a crowbar to the face as Yuta swung for the fences.
Eddie Kingston & Penta tried to make the save, only for Santana & Ortiz to return – and were aligned with the Blackpool Combat Club!
Fenix was being checked out by the medical staff, and his chances of heading to All In were slim as he was taken away on a stretcher and in an ambulance. Kingston was approached for an interview, and said he’ll fix this at Wembley.
Chris Jericho & Will Ospreay Are Ready To Make History
Chris Jericho was ready to join Don Callis, before he sniffed out the betrayal that Callis had planned. Jericho would be left bloody by Callis, Konosuke Takeshita and NJPW star Will Ospreay.
Tonight, Jericho gets a step closer to revenge – as he signs the contract to go one on one with Ospreay at the biggest show in AEW history.
Tony Schiavone was on hand to reside over the contract signings, with some extra security. Instead of signing the contract – Don Callis would explain his actions. What is bigger than having Jericho in his faction? Ending the career of Jericho.
He didn’t have to offer Ospreay much, just Jericho’s head on a platter at Wembley Stadium. A few years ago, Jericho nearly died in the UK – and on Sunday, Callis will be there at All In to ensure the job is finished.
Ospreay would say that he’s going to be able to say he’s beat Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada and Chris Jericho in two months.
Jericho is nothing but fuel to ensure the fire that is Ospreay’s career continues to burn bright. He would sign the contract, and Jericho had his chance to speak.
Jericho would mention that a few years ago, he called Ospreay and told him to tone down his style before he ends up in a wheelchair. Jericho revealed that this was supposed to happen at the Tokyo Dome in 2021 – and Jericho likes that.
All In is the biggest show Jericho has ever been on, and that’s coming from a man who’s been in the main event of WrestleMania.
Jericho is intending to be the best Jericho he’s ever been to beat Ospreay, and is ready for that challenge. Both men have signed – and this dream match is official.
