‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Eric Braeden Shares Good News
The soap opera actor did a Facebook Live Sunday evening, telling his fans that “I want to tell you, I’m grateful for all of your good thoughts and your prayers…and I can tell you it obviously has helped because I had my last cystoscopy two days ago.
And that’s when they thread a camera into your bladder and I’m cancer free. They couldn’t find a damn thing. Isn’t that nice? So I thank you for all of your good thoughts. All of your prayers meant a great deal to me. “
Braeden also told his fans that his treatment still continues. “Now, this does not mean that it is all over. I need to still do about three prophylactic infusions. That means…it’s called the BCG [Bacillus Calmette-Guerin] treatment.
They infuse your bladder with some stuff…but as of three days ago, I’m cancer free.” He continued, “The original surgeon did a great job getting all the cancer out, but I needed the treatment because there were some high-grade cancer cells…in the cancer that he removed.”
“On Saturday, I had an MRI of the entire area, the kidneys, and the whole low area…just to see if anything spread. So if that comes out negative, then we will do the three BCGs, the three infusions over three weeks, and then I should be free for a while, you know, and every so often, every few months or whatever, I’ll have another cystoscopy.
“So I just wanted you to know that as of a few days ago, I’m cancer free, and that obviously makes me very happy. I’m in very good hands, the people know what they’re doing, and I am very confident,” he said. Fans and cast members of ‘The Young and the Restless’ wish Eric Braeden all the best.
