When Powerhouse Hobbs made the challenge to Miro, fans got excited. These are two former TNT Champions, and two of the strongest men on the roster of All Elite Wrestling.
Hobbs would get some aid from QTV in getting the upper hand on Miro ahead of All Out, but this would only anger The Redeemer. After a brawl last night on AEW Collision saw Miro come out on top – they enter tonight on equal footing, as we get a proper heavyweight clash.
Miro & Powerhouse Hobbs Bring The Meat To The United Center
Miro & Hobbs would lock up in the middle of the ring, with Hobbs shoved off across the ring. Some right hands to the head would beat Hobbs into the corner, only serving to fire him up. Hobbs would hit a big lariat, dropping Miro before trying for a scoop slam.
Miro slipped free of the shoulders of Hobbs and hit the running wheel kick. Hobbs would fire back with a release German Suplex and an Exploder Suplex – throwing Miro around the ring like few others can. A knee strike to a kneeling Miro kept the pressure on, before Hobbs was sent to the floor by Miro.
A rolling cannonball senton off the apron caught Hobbs off guard, showing his agility before just driving Hobbs into the steel steps. Back into the ring, Hobbs managed to grab a rear chinlock – but Miro was able to power free and break the hold. A trade of lariats would get the crowd fired up – neither man wanting to give in.
Powerhouse Hobbs Gives The Fight Of His Life – But Game Over Arrives
Hobbs would be dropped as Miro gained the advantage, before being taken to the apron for some overhand punches. A superplex was set up Hobbs taking the worst of the impact – but both men landed awkwardly. Hobbs would get his feet first and hit a Powerslam, before the crowd started a ‘Meat Forever’ chant.
Miro would hit the running superkick, before applying Game Over. Hobbs would break free using the corner, and lured Miro into a spinebuster for the near fall.
Miro was nearly locked in his own finishing hold, but broke free before a spinebuster and applied Game Over – forcing Hobbs to tap out.
They got a standing ovation from the fans – and earned each others respect in the process… until Hobbs hit from behind to get the last word in. Miros wife would hit the ring, and hit Hobbs with the steel chair.
This saved Miro, and allowed him to use the chair to get Hobbs out of the ring. There was no lovers embrace, with Miro looking caught off guard and conflicted.
Kris Statlander Has Never Defeated Ruby Soho
Kris Statlander ensured her return to AEW was an instant success, returning at AEW Double Or Nothing 2023 to take the TBS Championship from Jade Cargill. Since then, she’s defended against Nyla Rose, Anna Jay, Taya Valkyrie, and more.
No one can say her title win as a fluke at this stage – but she’s yet to have a signature win as champion. Ruby Soho intends to keep things that way, as she challenges Statlander and finally looks to win the belt that has eluded her since 2022.
Soho would hit a knee to the midsection before driving Statlander to the mat, only for the champion to pop back to her feet. A running knee strike in the corner would land for Statlander, sending Soho to the floor.
Saraya was in the corner of Soho, and was a distraction – allowing Soho to take control. A cross armed clutch in the ring would force Statlander to fight to her feet – keeping Soho in control.
Statlander would manage a stiff strike to the jaw, gaining the chance to breathe. Soho would miss some running elbow smashes in the corners, and Statlander hit the snap powerslam for a near fall. A major backbreaker and the Spinning Falcon Arrow landed – Soho barely kicking out.
The Outcasts Shatter
Gory Special was applied in the ring, bending Soho over the back of Statlander. Soho was able to slip out, before the Saturday Night Fever attempt from Statlander.
Another counter would give a brief advantage, before Statlander hit the Snap Powerslam from the top rope. An Electric Chair Drop would have ended the night of Soho – but a slick Reverse Hurricanrana counter spiked Statlander on her head. Soho followed up with a DDT and low angle rana – getting a near fall.
Statlander hit the Blue Thunder Bomb – and went to the middle rope. Saraya would distract her, allowing Soho to hit the No Future Kick and Destination Unknown – but only got the two count.
Toni Storm would crawl out from under the ring, and disarmed Soho as she looked to use the Spray Paint – allowing Statlander to hit Saturday Night Fever for the victory.
The Outcasts have been unravelling for the past week, and Storm might have put the nail in their coffin. Storm would head to the back, with Saraya following – leaving Soho to find her own way once again. Is this the end of The Outcasts? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
