HOOK has been finding his groove again after suffering his first and to date only career loss against Jack Perry. Teaming with Orange Cassidy was a positive start, and tonight – he teams with an ECW legend in the form of Rob Van Dam.
Taking on the world travelled team of Matt Menard & Angelo Parker, HOOK will be tested tonight – while RVD will look to prove he’s still on the top of his game.
RVD & HOOK Unite For Tag Team Win
Parker & Menard had Jake Hager & Anna Jay in their corner – the bond remaining strong between the four even with the Jericho Appreciation Society in the past.
RVD would prove that he is still a threat – using his educated feet to cut down Menard & Parker. HOOK would get the tag, and his in-experience in tag team wrestling would show, as he was isolated in the wrong corner of the ring.
Menard & Parker cut the ring in half, making quick tags and doing everything to ensure the FTW Champion was unable to get across the ring.
A tackle from Parker stopped him just short – but an exploder suplex would send Parker flying. RVD got the tag and hit the Rolling Thunder – before the Spinning Heel Kick to the nose of Menard.
HOOK would catch Parker in the Redrum, while RVD came off the top rope with the Five Star Frog Splash – getting his team the victory.
RVD & HOOK have a long way to go as a team, but the potential is there – and considering RVD’s past with HOOK’s dad Taz – an interesting one.
Julia Hart Is Ready To Bring Gold Back To House Of Black
Julia Hart is building up a winning record, and was prepared for her biggest match to date tonight. Willow Nightingale was prepared to enter the ring tonight, but this match would have to wait for the future after Hart attacked her backstage. Instead – Hart gets Kiera Hogan tonight, who is looking for a signature win in her AEW career.
Hart would be able to ground Hogan quickly, hitting some harsh punches to the jaw – before applying a front headlock. Hogan would break free and hit the running forearm smashes.
Shotgun dropkick in the corner would land, but the follow up from Hogan would see Hart trip her into the corner. HartLess would be applied in the middle of the ring – and Hogan would submit.
After the bell, Hart applied the hold for a second time – adding insult to injury. Skye Blue suffered the same punishment last night – and tried to make the save, but took black mist to the eyes.
After the bell, Brody King would speak on behalf of Hart – saying her 25 match win streak has reached it’s goal. Hart will challenge TBS Champion Kris Statlander at AEW WrestleDream.
