Montez Ford recently opened up about the evolving partnership between the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley. In recent months, WWE fans have witnessed the gradual development of this alliance, which initially began with Lashley transforming the appearance and demeanor of Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, the former Grand Slam Tag Team Champions.
During an interview on The Happy Hour, Montez Ford shared his thoughts on the Street Profits’ connection with “The All Mighty.” He explained, “Currently, Angelo and I find ourselves in a transitional phase. Over the years, we’ve enjoyed some success, but it feels like our momentum has hit a bit of a plateau.”
“So, we made a strategic decision to align ourselves with someone who has a wealth of experience and a track record of success in the business. We believed that tapping into his knowledge could lead us to the same level of success he has achieved throughout his career.”
Ford continued, shedding light on their history with Bobby Lashley: “Bobby has been familiar with us for quite some time. Dawkins has been with the company since way back in 2012 during his developmental days, and I joined NXT in late 2015, eventually making my way to the main roster, where I’ve been for about three years now.”
“Bobby has been a mentor figure for us since our main roster debut, and what he’s been doing behind the scenes is now becoming more apparent to the audience.”
The Street Profits are set to face Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar of the LWO on the September 22 episode of WWE SmackDown, marking the next chapter in their alliance with Bobby Lashley.
