After a series of intense battles with Brock Lesnar on PPV – Cody Rhodes is not wrestling tonight, instead being invited onto a PLE sized edition of the Grayson Waller effect.
The Arrogant Aussie has made a huge impact in a short time on the WWE main roster, sharing the ring with Hall of Famers like Rey Mysterio & Edge, and even Payback host John Cena. Tonight, he will look to engage in mental warfare with Cody Rhodes – and find some weaknesses to exploit for his own gain.
Cody Rhodes Brings
Waller would take a shot at Pittsburgh & Rhodes – saying that they have something in common. He’s seen the city’s reading level, much like Rhodes – they can’t finish the story. Rhodes was welcomed to the ring, and had his full triumphant entrance complete with pyro.
He was unable to ask what the crowd wants to talk about, because it’s about what Grayson Waller wants to walk about. Waller knows that Rhodes needs the rub that only he can give, a viral moment.
Rhodes would say that Waller must have done his research on talk shows in WWE history – and he came here to give Waller an inside scoop.
He’d ask Waller if he watches the various shows of WWE – and if he noticed a wrong that needed to be fixed. Rhodes used what pull he had backstage – and got Jey Uso a job on Monday Night RAW after he quit The Bloodline & WWE as a whole a few weeks back.
Uso would take Rhodes spot on the Grayson Waller Effect – and was already being berated, but simply shut Waller up with a superkick and walked off.
Rhea Ripley Plays With Her Food
Rhea Ripley is looking to prove she is the most dominant name around in the women’s division. She’s been able to dominate the likes of Indi Hartwell recently, but has a big challenge to deal with tonight.
Perhaps the only person able to match her in terms of power is Raquel Rodriguez – having proved this in two prior singles meetings on NXT.
Ripley & Rodriguez are tied 1-1, with Rodriguez winning their last meeting in a Last Woman Standing match. However, that was 2021 – and Ripley is on another level now, and intends to prove that tonight.
Ripley would apply a headlock, and Raquel was unable to throw her off with the first irish whip. Shoulder tackles would be traded, with Ripley being dropped and sent to the floor. Getting back into the ring, Ripley tried some short arm lariats. Raquel would stand tall, before having her leg swept.
Ripley would hit a stiff dropkick to a kneeling Raquel, before some hammerfists to the face. Now having complete control, Ripley would take time to pose, before a hip drop onto the back of Raquel.
The Abdominal Stretch would be applied, and Raquel fought to her feet only to take some heavy knee strikes to the face. Shoving her into the ropes, Ripley would kick the rope into the face of Raquel.
Ripley Takes Her Toughest Challenger Down
Ripley would waste time bragging – allowing a recovery. Raquel would hit a series of stiff lariats, including one to the back of the neck – before a Fallaway Slam. The Corkscrew Elbow Drop in the corner would be blocked, as Ripley tripped her up. Stiff headbutts would follow, but Raquel would get free and hit a delayed vertical suplex on Ripley.
Another headbutt would follow from Ripley before a running knee to the face, which was followed by an arrogant pin from Ripley.
Raquel took advantage again, and launched Ripley throat first into the top rope before a stiff lariat for a near fall. Going after the bad knee of Raquel, Ripley hit the chop block before applying the Prism Lock.
Raquel used her height to counter into the hold, getting a roll up for a near fall. They’d trade wild blows in the ring, with a Big Boot sending Ripley to the floor – where she lifted the champion into the powerbomb and whipped her into the barricade. A lawn dart into the ring post would follow, and Dominik Mysterio would come to ringside.
Helping Ripley get a chance at recovery, Dominik would take a running powerslam from Raquel. A kick to the knee would follow, allowing Ripley to nail Riptide for the victory.
Judgement Day gained new gold tonight, and maintained their top prize, the WWE Women’s World Championship. Who can stop Ripley? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
