Ricochet & Logan Paul have had highlight reel level moments together this year, with their midair battle at the Royal Rumble, and a Spanish Fly through tables at Money in the Bank.
Tonight, they will meet in singles action at SummerSlam, as Paul looks to get his second singles victory in WWE. Paul has taken personal shots at Ricochet during the build to this match, even mocking his fiance – which could bring out a more dangerous Ricochet than fans are used to seeing.
Logan Paul Treats Ricochet Lightly
Paul would shine the bald head of Ricochet as the match began, before taking a slap to the jaw. Ricochet would hit a dropkick to send Paul to the floor before teasing a dive to the floor – making Paul flinch.
Paul got into the ring and tried for a Sunset Flip, with Ricochet rolling back to his feet. A running back elbow smash followed, with Paul getting the full impact on the chin of Ricochet.
Headlock would be applied, with Ricochet shoving Paul off before being sent to the apron. Paul would choke Ricochet using the top rope, before a Rude Awakening Neckbreaker onto the apron would land. Ricochet was shoved back into the ring, and Paul launched off a flurry of punches in the corner.
A running Powerslam to Ricochet would follow, getting Paul a two count. Some scoop slams would follow, before Paul hit a running leg drop.
Ricochet would set up the People’s Moonsault, getting a one count before Paul launched him with a big Back Body Drop. Ricochet was sent to the apron for the Springboard Clothesline, before Paul tried to hit a Spanish Fly.
One Lucky Punch Is All Logan Paul Needs
Landing on his feet, Ricochet was able to re-correct and hit the Spanish Fly for himself on the floor. Paul prevented Ricochet from diving, before a Slingshot Lariat to the floor.
Back in the ring, Paul would come off the top rope with a crossbody splash before a Standing Moonsault for a two count. Ricochet would catch Paul on the top rope with a super Neckbreaker, but was unable to follow up with a pinfall.
Paul would take a springboard lariat and Running Shooting Star Press – kicking out at two. A tornado DDT would land for Paul, before signalling for the Jackknife Powerbomb. Ricochet would slip free and hit the Recoil Knee Strike, before setting up the top rope shooting star press, only to land on the knees of Paul.
Paul tried for the big right hand, but was met by a superkick and Death Valley Driver. A Springboard Moonsault from Ricochet got a near fall, before trying for the 630 Senton.
Paul would avoid this, and was armed with brass knuckles, and punched Ricochet in the jaw for the victory – hiding the knuckles after the bell.
Brock Lesnar Looks To Dominate Cody Rhodes Once Again
Brock Lesnar & Cody Rhodes have been locked in a violent feud since the night after WrestleMania 39, and the record is split 1-1. Lesnar seemingly won’t quit until he destroys Rhodes, and brutal attacks on the lead up to SummerSlam have Rhodes coming in less than 100% – but arguably more motivated than ever before to take Lesnar down.
Both men are ready for a fight, and there’s few better places to end a feud of this calibre than at SummerSlam.
Rhodes would jump Lesnar as the match began, only to be thrown across the ring with a German Suplex. Disaster Kick would land, with Rhodes hitting a second one before being cut out of the air on the third.
Rhodes would be driven into the corner with a series of shoulder tackles, before dodging – sending Lesnar into the ring post. Lesnar was sent to the floor for a big dive to the floor, but regained control to toss Rhodes back into the ring.
Lesnar would lift Rhodes off the mat and tossed him aside with ease, before taking a moment to soak in the crowd. Rhodes would throw some shoulder tackles, before being launched across the ring with a suplex. Lesnar quickly followed up with another suplex, truly taking Rhodes to Suplex City.
Rhodes would roll to the floor, and took a moment to catch his breath before getting back to the apron – where Lesnar drove him back down to the floor.
Lesnar would continue to stalk Rhodes as he rolled back into the ring, before another suplex would launch Rhodes across the ring – and just watched as he rolled back to the floor. Rhodes crawled back to the ring, and was driven back out with a lariat.
The American Nightmare Proves He’s Got Guts
An F5 on the floor would follow, before seeing if Rhodes would answer the ten count. He was able to beat the count, and looked defiantly at Lesnar – pulling himself to his feet.
Rhodes would come at Lesnar with some punches before another German Suplex. Back to the floor, Rhodes would be sent through the announce table with an F5.
Somehow, Rhodes was able to beat the count again – showing great endurance. Lesnar would stare down at Rhodes, before tossing him with another suplex.
A German Suplex was set up, and Rhodes would grab the top turnbuckle cover – letting it fly as he was thrown. On the floor, he tried to use the steel steps, but Lesnar would block him.
Rhodes would stay determined, eventually hitting Lesnar with the steel steps before a Disaster Kick and two CodyCutters in the ring.
Lesnar was able to kick out, and blocked the Cross Rhodes into a Kimura Lock – forcing Rhodes to either tap or reach the ropes. Rhodes was able to reach the ropes, getting free of the hold.
F5 would be set, only for Rhodes to break free and drive Lesnar into the exposed corner. Rhodes would lock in the Kimura Lock, with Lesnar breaking free with a spinebuster.
A trio of Cross Rhodes would follow, finally putting Lesnar down for the three count. After the match, Lesnar would shake Rhodes hand.
