Despite selling out Hammerstein Ballroom, GCW still have some work to do in regards to winning over fans. They didn’t have their best showing at their biggest show ever, but are back to running solid shows on a smaller scale. However, at the end of GCW If I Die First – fans got a preview of what could be one of the most historic matches to ever grace a GCW ring. Dr. Wagner Jr. & Psycho Clown could be on their way to their second Luchas de Apuestas match.
History Between Two Men On The Latest GCW Show Led To A Post-Main Event Encounter
While not major names in the United States, both Wagner Jr. & Psycho Clown are among the biggest stars from the wrestling scene in Mexico. Psycho Clown in particular is the top star in AAA, having headlined many events. He’s also no stranger to Wagner Jr – as their careers have crossed paths numerous times, including when he took the mask of Wagner in 2017.
Now, following a confrontation during a fan signing earlier in the day at GCW If I Die First – these two are back on a collision course. Following the main event match which saw Dr. Wagner Jr. defeat Joey Janela, Psycho Clown would hit the ring. Earlier in the night, he stole the show alongside Gringo Loco in a brutal Falls Count Anywhere match, but that wasn’t enough violence for Psycho Clown.
Dr. Wagner Challenges Psycho Clown In Hair vs. Mask Fashion
He’d confront Wagner after the main event, and Wagner was the one to lay down the challenge. He wants revenge on Psycho Clown, and that means wanting to take the mask of Clown. Right now, no one knows who is under the mask. His identity is a well kept secret, as is tradition down in Mexico. The same was true for Dr. Wagner Jr – who was forced to unmask after losing to Psycho Clown in 2017.
Very rarely do we see Luchas de Apuestas matches outside of Mexico, let alone between two big names. However, GCW has something great on the way here, and it just needs a date set. They might choose to save this for one of their shows around Wrestlemania, which could give the biggest crowd possible.
