It didn’t take long for the Hardy Boyz to get back into the swing of things, unfortunately we’re going to have to wait until March 13 to see them in their first match together in a couple of years.
They’ll face NWA World Heavyweight Champion Matt Cardona and Brian Myers at Big Time Wrestling’s event at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, NY.
This will be the Hardy’sr first time in action since winning their ninth tag team gold against the Usos on the Smackdown following WrestleMania 35.
They subsequently relinquished the titles due to Jeff’s injury, and Matt was destroyed due Lars Sullivan’s build.
Breaking free
The announcement came on Big Time Wrestling’s Facebook page.
“Get ready Albany! THE HARDY BOYZ are teaming again after more than 3 years and Big Time Wrestling is bringing them to the historic Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, NY on Sunday, March 13. Matt and Jeff will face the new National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Champion MATT CARDONA and his partner BRIAN MYERS in what should be an epic tag team encounter.
“The SAT are back for 6 man tag team action, BTW Champion RICHARD HOLLIDAY defends his belt against COLIN DELANEY,
“Dynamite DANNY MILES and MR. T.A. square off for an Albany Street Fight, SHANE ALDEN will be in action plus ASHLEY
“D’AMBOISE will tangle with TINA SAN ANTONIO plus much more!
“Mett Matt and Jeff and all the stars from 5:30PM-7:30PM for photos and autographs. First match is 7:30PM.”
Recapturing greatness
More than the Hardy Boyz’s return, this also is a match between WWE castoffs that have gone on to rediscover themselves in the Indies while Matt Hardy has enjoyed a good run in AEW with his own stable.
While there’s still plenty of speculation on when, not if in most fans’ minds, Jeff will sign with AEW, this will be a great way for the fans to see their favorites together again.
It’s also a great way for the Hardy’s so show what they can do in an audition of sorts for AEW and other companies.
After all of their years together and separate, it’s fitting Matt and Jeff face of with another team of best friends, Matt Cardona and Brian Myers.
We expect this to be a fun match and wish we could be there to see it. It’s a great first step and we wish we could be there to witness it, but we’re sure we’ll all get to see the Hardy Boyz in action again before too long.
