Last night fans got to bask in the glory of one of AEW’s best episodes of Dynamite in a long time. From top to bottom, AEW gave fans great matches and moments – with the debuts of Jay White & Keith Lee in AEW being highlights. However, during one of these moments – fans might have missed something from Matt Hardy – who gave a very obvious tease towards his brother joining the AEW roster.
Matt Hardy Jumped The Guard Rail Mid-Match, Exiting Through The Crowd
While accompanying Private Party to the ring for Isiah Kassidy’s match against the big debut in Keith Lee, Matt Hardy didn’t have the spotlight. The debut of Keith Lee had everyone’s attention, and as he tossed Kassidy around with the greatest of ease – Matt Hardy saw the writing on the wall.
He knew his clients were about to drop another match, and couldn’t bear to see this. So, he did what anyone would do – and jumped the guard rail in the middle of the match, and left through the crowd. Commentary called this behavior erratic, but had to get back to calling the match.
Echoing The First Stage Of Jeff Hardy’s WWE Release
This might sound very familiar to fans, as it was roughly the same thing that lead to the WWE release of his brother and long-time tag team partner – Jeff Hardy. In late 2021 during a six man tag team match at a WWE live event, Jeff Hardy left through the crowd in the middle of a match. This led to WWE demanding Hardy take a drug test, and proceeding to release him before getting the results back.
The tests would later come back negative – and WWE has been trying to get Jeff Hardy back under contract. However, Hardy has turned down all offers – including one which would have seen him enter the Hall of Fame. Jeff Hardy has a non-compete clause in his contract, meaning he can’t show up in AEW until later next month, but with how many teases Matt Hardy has provided – it’s only a matter of time.
