LA Knight was able to get some damage in on Grayson Waller last week on NXT 2.0 – but after getting pinned, he’s not done with the rising star. Once again, he has plans on calling Waller out, and giving another beatdown. By the time this feud is over, he plans on being the Last Man Standing – giving a hint on how this might all come to an end.
Grayson Waller Accepts LA Knights Challenge For Last Man Standing Match
Hitting the ring with purpose, Knight would still find a moment to soak in the reception of the fans. Knight has some respect with the fight that Waller brought in places like WarGames, but his cowardly attack in December showed his true colours. The restraining order and bodyguard just helped to show his yellow belly. However, LA Knight is still here – but Waller is getting smarter.
From up in the stands, Waller with Sanga at his side would get some trash talk in. He called Knight a roadblock on his career, and claims to be past him. However, Knight pointed out that twice now, Waller has been left laid out while Knight stands tall. Now, Knight has a proposal.
Waller needs to prove he can keep Knight down – in a Last Man Standing match. This isn’t for Stand & Deliver however, as Waller intends to have that match next week. The challenge accepted – this one is official.
Dakota Kai & Wendy Choo Push Forward To Next Round Of Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic
We saw two first round matches in the women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic last week, and tonight we finished the first round. We have the team who nearly claimed the NXT Tag Team Championships recently in Indi Hartwell & Persia Pirotta, and the odd couple duo of Wendy Choo and Dakota Kai. Alongside Raquel Gonzalez, Kai won this tournament in 2021 – and hopes to repeat that success in 2022.
Pirotta started alongside Choo, who stood tall as Choo went for a drop toehold. Choo was driven into the corner, and Hartwell would toss Pirotta in for a splash before hitting a sidewalk slam. Kai would get the tag in, and would hit some kicks alongside Choo. Hartwell & Pirotta would show their superior chemistry with some tandem offence, but Choo would get free – with Kai coming in and hitting the Scorpion Kick.
Kai would show some great focus as she kicked away at Hartwell. Pirotta got the tag and used her power for the facebuster – only for Choo to break the pin up with the Nap Time Elbow. Kai & Choo hit a series of diving attacks, and would advance to the semi-finals. This potentially sets up Dakota Kai to meet her former partner Raquel Gonzalez – who teams with Cora Jade in the second quarter finals match tonight.
