Since making her debut for AEW, Jade Cargill has been unstoppable. This saw her rise up to become the first ever TBS Champion – and tonight she has perhaps her most challenging defence yet tonight. Tay Conti has been constantly bubbling underneath the top spots in the women’s division, and tonight will look to prove she’s worthy of being a champion and had Cargill her first loss in the process.

Jade Cargill Remains Undefeated In AEW

Conti would kick this match off fast with a pump kick – before having to counter an early attempt at Jaded. Jade would fight off a cross armbreaker attempt, before being thrown around the ring by Conti. The judo skills or Conti are second only to her kicks, and Jade took three pump kicks to the face.

Conti would mess up and had her legs out of bounds – before Jade rolled to the outside. Mark Sterling was taken out by Conti, and Jade responded by knocking Anna Jay down.

Back in the ring, Jade would have to avoid the DDTay, but was pushed into a chair shot from Jay on the outside, but was able to kick out at two. Conti would look for the TayKO – but Jade blocked in the Eye of The Storm for a two count.

Frog Splash would follow from Jade, a new move in her arsenal – but only getting a two count. Conti would hit the Gotch Style Piledriver, before going up top. Jade would shove her face first into the ring post, before nailing Jaded to retain – and move up to 29-0.

CM Punk Turns Back The Clock

When CM Punk met MJF in his hometown of Chicago, he was not able to defeat him. If you ask MJF, he even defeated CM Punk twice that night. However, after FTR lost a tag team match to CM Punk & Jon Moxley? The rematch was set. MJF liked to compare himself to ‘Piper in Portland’, so CM Punk knew the exact type of match to pitch, and it’s one he’s met hardcore legend Raven in. It’s time for a Dog Collar match.

Instead of his usual Cult Of Personality, CM Punk would have his old ROH theme song play – Miseria Cantare by AFI. Add in the throwback attire, and Punk was back to the time when he had something to prove. MJF was chained to Punk, and the bell would ring.

With nowhere to run, Punk would quickly be able to corner MJF – and would use the chain around the post to pull MJF into the corner for some punches. MJF would fight free and hit the Cheeky Nandos kick before a powerbomb for a two count. Using the chain, MJF would whip Punk across the back, before busting him open with some chain wrapped punches.

MJF would grab a microphone and demand Punk says he wants to quit – and instead got told to eat shit. Punk would use the chain to yank MJF down to the mat, before hitting a headbutt to the yambags. The chain assisted Russian Leg Sweep would follow, before hitting the elbow drop off the middle rope. Punk used the chain like a whip, before wrapping it around his hand and hitting some knee strikes – all while dripping blood.

Wardlow Betrayed MJF – Punk Claims The Win

Calling for the Go To Sleep, MJF would know to counter and applied the Sleeper Hold. Using the chain to assist, this is like how he defeated Punk the first time in Chicago. Applying the body scissors to take Punk into the middle of the ring, Punk would hang on and stay in the fight.

The damage to the hand would help to set up a GTS, but MJF once again countered – going for Salt of The Earth. Punk would apply the Anaconda Vice, but MJF would shift into a pinfall for the break. MJF would take a chain wrapped knee to the face with the Shining Wizard.

Heading to the outside, Punk would drag MJF into the steel steps – and some punches to the face. MJF would be once again able to avoid the GTS – this time due to Punk being too weak to hoist him up for the strike. MJF would be able to set up a Tombstone on the apron, but the man who once faced Undertaker at Wrestlemania would land it instead.

Back into the ring, CM Punk wrapped the chain around his elbow, but MJF was able to dodge. A bag was grabbed from under the ring, and it was once again thumbtacks. MJF poured them out, and hit the rising knee in the corner before looking for the running bulldog – but was bit instead. Pepsi Plunge was set, but MJF fought free – and hit a superplex onto the tacks instead.

Calling for Wardlow, MJF would give Punk time to recover. GTS would land – and send MJF right into the tacks. Wardlow instead handed the Dynamite Diamond Ring to Punk, and despite spit in the face, would knock MJF out and get the win.

How will MJF react to Wardlow’s betrayal? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
