In an interview with The Guardian, which was published on March 11, Simon Rex spoke about the time he was offered money to fabricate a story about being with Meghan Markle, the present Duchess of Sussex way before she met her husband—Prince Harry.
Simon Rex Framed Meghan’s ‘Thank You” Letter
Simon Rex had earlier stated on Hollywood Raw Podcast how he was offered a sum of $70,000 from a British tabloid to lie about his relationship with Meghan, The 47-year-old American actor, rapper and comedian said on the podcast that he had turned down the $70,000 offer even though he was broke because he “didn’t feel right lying and f-king up the royal family.”

He said “I really needed the money. But I’ll be on food stamps before I do that.” In the recent interview, Simon mentioned that the former SUITS actress wrote him a letter to thank him after she learnt about the offer he declined. “She said, ‘it’s nice to know there are still good people.'” He further revealed that the letter is framed at his house in California.
About how the Duchess knew Simon? The duo had acted together on a 2005 episode of the show, “Cuts.” Simon had explained, earlier in 2020 that he and Meghan had gone out to lunch a few times, and that it was a very platonic relationship. “Nothing happened. We never even kissed. We hung out once in a very non-datey way.” This is not the first time actors or actresses that Meghan Markle has worked with stand up in her defense.
One of which was “Suits” writer, Jon Cowan. He wrote on Twitter when Megan was faced with bullying allegations mostly against her staff. Cowan stated that “it’s also possible the Duchess of Sussex is a good person thrust into an unimaginable world. Having spent 3 years working with her in her pre-Duchess days, I saw a warm, kind, caring person.”
