Prince William and Kate Middleton have been advised to stay away from visiting Jamaica on the basis of their perceived negative treatment towards Meghan Markle.
Prince William And Kate Middleton Warned Against Visiting Jamaica As Part Of Their Caribbean Tour-‘The Royal Family Should Be Worried’
This claim arrives on the back end of the couple arriving in Jamaica, as part of their Royal Caribbean tour. In and amongst that, there is no denying that Meghan was unhappy in the Royal family.
Her grievances came to the fore when she decided to have her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
During the course of that process, she was very frank over how she was driven to the thought of having suicidal thoughts, as well as seeing her son Archie being subjected to negative comments about the colour of his skin.
And given that Meghan does have some connection to the country, it is not surprising to hear that the people of Jamaica have a lot to say about her treatment. Meghan had allegedly visited the country on numerous occasions.
This was with her mother in order to see the slums that had existed, as part of her journey in being a ‘global citizen.’ Not only that, but Meghan just so happened to get married to her ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, in Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
With that being said, Kate and William are not the most popular people in Jamaica. Nadine Batchelor-Hunt, who happens to be a political correspondent, had this to say: “I don’t think Brits realise how angry Jamaicans are over the treatment of Meghan by the Royal Family and the British public.
“And the Royal Family should be worried, the decolonisation movement has picked up steam in recent years: Barbados just abolished the Queen as head of state.”
And things have not been helped by the reaction from the Jamaican people. Reports indicate that huge protests have been occurring, as a result of the Jamaican’s view of the Royal family’s role in the slave trade.
One person on social media wrote: “Return everything England looted from these people, including their pride and freedom!” It is clear that Kate and William are not welcome.
And they will have to do a lot of work before they convince people that they are here to bridge the gap. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
