We’ve already seen Toni Storm qualify for the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and tonight we have another qualifying match. Jamie Hayter is looking for a chance to break out in the company, wanting to be more than just the lackey of Britt Baker. Tonight, she has a chance to do just that – as she faces Skye Blue.
Jamie Hayter Punches Her Ticket To Owen Hart Tournament
Hayter would force Blue to the ropes, before allowing a clean break. Blue would get a hammerlock applied, before being driven hard into the corner. A back elbow would land, before Blue would take Hayter down to the mat.
The running hurricanrana would follow, sending Hayter into the corner. Blue ran right into an exploder suplex, and was beaten down to the mat. Hayter looked for a vertical suplex but was rolled up, before Blue hit the Crucifix Bomb.
Blue would run into an ugly choke breaker, but was able to hit a running knee strike. A near fall off the enziguri would follow, before Hayter nailed the backdrop driver. A superplex into a brainbuster would follow, and one big lariat later – Hayter wins!
Keith Lee Proves He’s Limitless
Powerhouse Hobbs has tasted what makes Keith Lee so special at AEW Revolution, and was still willing to keep attacking him. Tonight, they will clash in their first ever singles meeting. It’s not often in AEW we have two proper heavyweights clash – making this one of the best AEW Rampage main events to date.
These two hosses would lock up in the middle of the ring, but were equally matched in power. Lee would send Hobbs off the ropes, but was able to withstand the shoulder tackle. Hobbs tried again, but was sent tumbling out of the ring. Lee followed, and nailed some heavy body shots.
Hobbs would drive Lee into the ring post, before tossing him into the ring post. Back into the ring, Hobbs hit a knee drop. Hobbs would try to press the advantage – before Lee smashed him down with a HUGE lariat. Lee would look for the Spirit Bomb, but Hobbs nailed the snap powerslam.
Hobbs would get tossed across the ring with the Biel, before taking a headbutt from Lee. Ricky Starks would hit the ring with a chair, but Lee punched it away. Hobbs hit the Last Will & Testament spinebuster, and got a visual pinfall – but the referee as busy with Starks. Lee nailed Big Bang Catastrophe – and this was over!
