Britney Spears has revealed that she is expecting her third child and is pregnant with Sam Asghari’s baby. The singer took to Instagram on Monday, April 11 to make the surprise announcement.
Britney, 40, began to grow suspicious that something was going on when she noticed her weight fluctuating during her recent trip to Maui. Her fiancé, Sam Asghari, 27, insisted that she was only “food pregnant,” but Britney wasn’t so sure. ‘So I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby,’ she excitedly shared.

The pop icon went on to discuss the struggles she faced with her first two pregnancies, writing, ‘It’s hard because when I was pregnant, I had perinatal depression. I have to say it is absolutely horrible… women didn’t talk about it back then … some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her but now women talk about it everyday … thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret’ before stating that she will be doing yoga every day this time around.
This will be Sam Asghari’s first child, while Britney already shares two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, with ex-husband Kevin Federline, who she was married to from 2004 to 2007.
You may recall that it’s been a whirlwind year for Britney Spears, who recently became free from a troublesome conservatorship spanning 13 years that allowed her father, Jamie Spears, to have complete control over the star’s life and finances. Britney’s jaw-dropping testimony in court alleged that Jamie micromanaged her every move and even went as far forcing her to be on birth control against her will.
‘I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out,’ she said.
Britney has deemed her situation ‘abusive’ and ‘traumatizing’ and her story garnered interest worldwide. Since she is no longer under a strict conservatorship, thanks to the help of her skilled attorney Mathew Rosengart, Britney has been enjoying life by being able to express herself freely without restrictions.
Britney has made no secret of the fact that she is eager to start a family with Sam. On Instagram she frequently references her desire to have more children and how she longs to one day add a baby girl to her brood.
