When it comes to the NJPW roster, they had few better baby faces than 33 year old Juice Robinson. Having come into the company back around 2015, he rebuilt his career from the ground up as a Young Lion following a stint in WWE NXT as CJ Parker. The results were great, with Robinson going on to win the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship, and IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships. However, as his current deal comes to a close – his wrestling career might follow.
Juice Robinson Has No Plans To Return To Japan
During a recent interview with Bryan Alveraez on Wrestling Observer Radio, Robinson would discuss his current NJPW contract status. It’s ending soon, and he has no plans to sign a new deal. Robinson had the following to say.
“I don’t have any plans to travel back over to Japan. I am at the end of my contract – I did an extra three month extension and that ends April 30. So, that will be that. I will not be wrestling under the New Japan banner any longer. I really don’t know what’s next. I’m just going to hang out and relax for a little while and see what comes to me.”
Despite this, Robinson has no regret about his time in NJPW. Robinson especially loved just travelling across Japan with the roster. He’d have the following to say about his time in the company.
“Those guys, we travelled up and down the country together doing a lot of shows. I was part of the team and I’m just proud that I was. I got there and learned how to fit in and I fit in and became a functional part of it. It was awesome and I really, really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the camaraderie, the brotherhood that is New Japan Pro Wrestling, that will always be a very special thing that I got to do in my life and it’ll be part of my life forever. I got so lucky that I got to end up there.”
His Next Steps Might Not Involve Returning To The Ring
With Robinson on the way out of NJPW, this is generally where speculation would begin on his next moves. A return to the WWE roster, or joining his partner Toni Storm in AEW would normally be on the menu. However, Robinson is perhaps set to take a break from the industry as a whole. During his appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio, he’d say the following when asked if he’s got a list of dream matches.
“I don’t really have anybody that I want to wrestle, to be honest. I just don’t have the urge to wrestle really anymore.”
Robinson would go on to say that he is fine being a house husband, with Storm getting money from her work in AEW as well as her OnlyFans account.
