The best way to describe New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2021 would be odd. You have a show that has varied in quality, with some shows being stacked from top to bottom like fans expect, while other times they fail to hit the mark. However, NJPW Battle In The Valley is quickly shaping up to be perhaps their best show of the year – and only gets bigger as we once again see Moose step into the NJPW ring for a match.
Juice Robinson Likely Not To Be In World Tag League, But Could Feud With Moose Through Winter
The last time we saw the self proclaimed “God Of Wrestling” in NJPW was at Resurgence, where he stole the show alongside Tomohiro Ishii. This makes it not much of a surprise that NJPW would invite him back for Battle in the Valley, and he’s got another former champion to face with the two time IWGP United States Champion Juice Robinson.
Robinson has recently finished up a feud with Hikule’o with a brutal Texas Bullrope Match at Autumn Attack, and now could be moving onto an equally hard hitting series alongside Moose. With Robinson being set for this show, and World Tag League starting just two days later, it’s unlikely he will be involved with the tournament, where alongside David Finlay he made the finals in 2020.
Tag Team Action And A Rival Of Moose Set To Appear On Show
Two other matches were also confirmed for this show. One of the men who Moose has made an enemy of in Josh Alexander will be on board for this event, taking on Yuya Uemura. Moose recently claimed the Impact Wrestling Championship off Alexander, who had just finished a hard fought match with Christian Cage to win the belt. With NJPW & Impact working together, they could butt heads on this event.
Another match joining the card will see some tag team action. Violence Unlimited members Brody King and Chris Dickinson will do battle with the Stray Dog Army’s Bateman and Misterioso. Brody King & Dickinson have been a steady force in NJPW, and this show could help to get them to the next level in the tag team division – perhaps opening up a spot on 2022 World Tag League if they focus on the promotion.
These matches join Jay White vs. Tomohiro Ishii on the event, as well as a confirmed appearance from Kazuchika Okada. Will you be watching or attending Battle In The Valley? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
