We’re in an odd moment in the history of AEW. Most of their early contracts are coming to their end dates – and not all early talent are sticking around. We’ve already seen the likes of Peter Avalon, Cody Rhodes, and Joey Janela exit the company – and now Jack Evans will join that list. As a member of the TH2 tag team alongside Angelico, Evans was often relegated to lower card matches and feuds – though did face Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship in his biggest match in the company. However, Evans will not be getting a new contract with AEW – but there’s no hard feelings.
Jack Evans Knows It’s Just Business
Jack Evans himself would break this news. He’d take to Twitter to say the following – keeping his fans in the loop.
My time with AEW has been fun and enjoyable but it has come to an end as I will not be re-signed when my contract ends at the end of April. I’d like to thank everyone at AEW and the AEW fans for the opportunity.
When a fan would say this is heartless treatment- Evans would defend AEW in a follow up tweet.
”Nah it is part of the business. Not to diss myself but I wasn’t giving any added value to the company truthfully and with a big roster you do gotta make cuts.”
Angelico Recently Returned From Injury
Right now, Evans tag team partner Angelico has just made a return to the AEW roster following an injury. He’d help his old Andrade Family Office pals Private Party & Butcher in taking the fight to The Hardys. It’s unclear if Angelico has received a new deal – or his contract was frozen while injured, giving him a few extra months.
At present, a match with TH2 & The Hardyz is still possible – with Evans still having some time on his contract. This could be a great way to send him off, and help to boost his stock as he looks for bookings outside of AEW.
