Why Is Elon Musk Selling Off Tesla Shares?

Why Is Elon Musk Selling Off Tesla Shares?

Elon Musk has a very strange way of doing business. He is as unpredictable with his moves as the weather.

To begin with, he once shared a story on how he made a million bucks needed for the start of his Boring Company. What the genius did is, he manufactured baseball caps with a logo saying ‘The Boring Company’. He made 50 000 of them and over one month he sold them all, making a profit of a little above $1 million.

Why Is Elon Musk Selling Tesla?

He needed a fresh 2-3 million dollars later after launching the Boring Company and what he did to make them is totally amazing. This time he made 7000 ‘flamethrowers’ with the company logo and sold them for an incredible total of $3.5 million. Who knew that the world needed so many flamethrowers? What do people do with them?

In the end, we can definitely say that even Elon’s jokes make him millions of dollars. When you are born under a lucky star and have an intelligent brain, I guess success is inevitable.

We are all aware of his Twitter purchase earlier this week. This move has left many wondering why he did what he did. Censorship, monetizing tweets, changing ads policy, we’ve heard everything. In some time we will see what is the real reason.

The public is now surprised once again by his actions as he decides to sell an $8.5 billion share of Tesla, the electric car manufacturing factory. There are rumors that say that he did this in order to fund the deal for Twitter. Is it worth selling such a large part of an already very successful business in order to invest in something that is still unknown if worthy? Most probably it is. Tesla was facing a small but steady fall in the stock market for some time now. His great smell for business most probably alarmed him about the situation and after doing his calculations he decided on this bold move.

Nevertheless, taking into consideration his previous business endeavors we can surely conclude that what he did is business. Most probably a successful one.

After he sells the Tesla shares he immediately posts a tweet that he is not selling any more of it for now.
“No further Tesla sales planned after today” – he says.

After all, Tesla is his baby. He built it from scratch. I think that even though he is bound to the company with much money, he is bound sentimentally as well. Imagine starting from the bottom with an idea only and struggling through the years to push this idea to become reality.

It takes great motivation, great belief in yourself, and most of all courage and balls of steel. Elon Musk has shown to have all of the above. I presume he knows what he’s doing. What do you think? Is the Twitter investment a good idea?
