Meghan Markle has been called out for trying to imitate Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow.
Meghan Markle Called Out For Trying To Mimic Gwyneth Paltrow-‘Meghan Was Always Talking About Goop’
That is according to Royal author Tina Brown in her book entitled ‘The Palace Papers.’ Gwyneth, for her part, has managed to balance her acting with a successful lifestyle and wellness brand ‘Goop.’
While her company has sometimes caused controversy by the manner in which it promotes bizarre products, such as vagina-scented candles, it seems that Meghan was inspired by Gwyneth during her acting days.
During her time on Suits, Tina claimed that Meghan did the following: “She was convinced, not without reason, could emulate the success of Goop, Gwyneth Paltrow’s canny second-act creation of a pampering and wellness e-commerce site.
“Meghan was always talking about Goop,’ one of the Suits team told me.” But with the test of time, it was clear that things changed very quickly.
Meghan ended up marrying Prince Harry and entering the Royal family before her exit in 2020. Not only that, but the days of her setting up a lifestyle brand seem to be over with more emphasis being on her Netflix and Spotify deals.
After all, her previous attempt at a lifestyle brand did not end well. She made the decision to shut down her website ‘The Tig’ for good.
In a statement at the time, Meghan remarked: “After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig.”
The response from the fans on social media was very brutal. People were of the view that Meghan was simply an opportunist and was aiming to take advantage of whatever was in vogue at the current time.
One person wrote: “No surprise that woman can’t come up with an original thought if it hit her square in the head.”
Meghan may not have ended up emulating Gwyneth, but she certainly has plenty of time in order to write her own chapter in life. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
