Prince Harry has been slammed for his involvement in a travel campaign advert.
Prince Harry Blasted For Promoting The ‘Tyrannical’ Chinese Social Credit System With His Travalyst Organisation-‘I Don’t Want Any Part Of A System Like That’
In the advert, Harry is shown promoting his ‘Travalyst’ organisation. This attempts to encourage travelers to become more sustainable by choosing flights with lower emissions.
In the process of doing so, the holidaymakers are rated for their sustainability. And as part of the advert, Harry was shown in a light-hearted manner.
He had been called out for allegedly dropping a sweet wrapper during his visit to New Zealand in 2018. As a result, Harry was given a 3 out of 5 star rating.
But jokes aside, Harry was heavily slammed for encouraging a policy that could end up becoming quite problematic.
This was on the grounds that it was akin to the Chinese Social Credit System, which aims to reward or punish people based on the way that they behave by focusing on their online activities, as well as shopping habits.
Bev Turner, who happens to be a broadcaster, did not hold back on her condemnation of Harry. She said: “I watched that five-minute video today just aghast, it’s like he’s teeing up the Chinese social credit system.
“I don’t want any part of a system like that, I don’t want to be judged by an app..I think it’s bizarre and you see right through what he’s doing.”
The fans on social media were equally brutal towards Harry. A significant proportion of people were of the view that he had become increasingly desperate in order to forge a life outside of the Royal family.
And in the process of doing so, he was coming across in a negative light. One person wrote: “What a shamble’s for a ex royal .. desperate wannabes.”
It is too early to tell how Harry’s new venture will pan out, but based on the public perception so far, there does not seem to be a lot of enthusiasm for it.
Time will tell if that does end up changing. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
